I did 1186 slides with this scanner. It is easy to work with and does a truly amazing job! Unfortunately, My correspondence with TECH support was not just bad, but TERRIBLE. After my trying more than once to get a simple answer, I never heard back from them. EVEN though I said I would publish a BAD report. They apparently DON'T CARE. My problem with the SVP was that occasionally the software FREEZES. I thought the software could be updated. I also wanted to know if I oould buy extra slide holders. Now that is not a seriour request, BUT they never responded. SO if TECH support is important to you, DON'T buy this product. EVEN though it is a REALLY goood unit. One good thing about this product is that even when the software freezes, you can still download the slides you have already scanned. It would be nice if Amazon would get on their CASE and find out why they can't AT LEAST respond to their e mails.

I had hoped that I'd get a somewhat respectable scan from my slides, but I was sorely disappointed in the outcome. The item is very easy to use, and the included software is OK but the scans came out muddy and lacked any detail. I experimented with multiple settings but to no avail.
I would not recommend this item to anyone for any reason. I'll just go back to having my slides digitally done with professional duplication firms. It may cost more but at least I can use them and not have to guess whay the content is.

I love this scanner. It has helped me get my slides into my computer and organized in a way I never thought possible. The only draw back is that it only comes with 1 slide and 1 negative tray. I can't find any more.

I had 800 slides to scan. I took them to a service, who wanted a dollar a slide. I declined and bought this little gem instead. It took a few days, but the quality and ease of use were well worth it. I scanned 'em all and saved $721.
This is a low end entry level product, but the results are really fine. It's a great value.

Extremely useful transparancy scanner..I have scanned more than 2300 35mm slides of last 40 years of my and my familie's old memories.I then processed the jpg files in Photoshop CS2 and made DVD's for our family and my Yonger sister's family.Everybody was absolutely thrilled the rare slides converted in photos and then in a DVD on LCD TV ..Great product and great Amazon to offer such multitude of hightech products..

This is a nice easy to use scanner that will convert your 35mm slides and negatives to a jpg file. The quality isn't as good as I had hoped it to be but for the price it will be acceptable for some folks.

I bought this scanner after asking specifically if it works with Vista and being told it did. Um, no. It took upwards of 5 hours to get it going on my computer, after it had blue-screened and memory-dumped 4 times, only then to find out that it scans like CRAP! Slides and prints and negs all came out looking about 500 years old, even if some of them were only a few years old!
For those who don't know, this product is really just a digital camera that "takes pictures" of your slides, negs, and prints, and then uploads the resulting .jpg to your computer via USB. It isn't actually scanning anything, it's just taking a picture, and a horrible quality one at that. I took me 5 hours to get it semi-running, 5 minutes to figure out it was crap, and a month to actually get my refund back from the seller. Take-Away Message: BUYER BEWARE, this is a horrible product, and people who are giving it good reviews must either have no idea what a good scan is, or are not reviewing the right product. I returned this and bought the flatbed scanner Epson V500 for only $20 more than this, and it is 500% better, with scans turning out like professionals, even on slides that are 50 years old or more. Check out the Epson V500, I have no issues with it and it plays very nice with Vista, not a single issue and I am on slide 250 and counting!

I just received this product today and am in process of returning it, unfortunately I was unable to turn it on either by plugging it in or using batteries, so my experience with it was poor. Also it is not noted on the website that this is a Windows only product, so if you use a Mac don't buy it because there is no way for you to use it.

SVP scanner is a POC!,
This review is from: NEW! SVP Digital Film 35mm Negative & Slides Scanner w/ Build-in LCD + AV Out! (Electronics)
I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas and so by the time we found out what a piece of crap it was, it was too late to recoup any of the $150 purchase price. As others said in their reviews, we got NO response from any of the numerous tries to contact the company (tech support emails returned undeliverable).
The software simply froze and nothing ever worked! Biggest waste of money - do not buy this product or any from this company unless you want to throw your money away!!!

Very easy and very fast,
This review is from: NEW! SVP Digital Film 35mm Negative & Slides Scanner w/ Build-in LCD + AV Out! (Electronics)
I have thousands of slides from both of my grandfathers and my father. This was a very fast and easy way to scan in the slides. I was surprised how quickly scanning in slides was. The quality of the scans were great too. I loved being able to do this without a computer by saving them to a SD card and them just uploading them to the computer when I was done with a big batch.
