really slow to take pictures,

i bought this camcorder because i herd good things about how well rounded it is with all it's features but it really isn't. the shutter speed for pictures is SO SLOW and has very little if any image stablization! trying to take pictures of my kids (which never sit still) is a nightmare ALWAYS blurry or has a smeared effect. but after all thats said it does take really good pictures of STILL LIFE and videos and the battery last a really long time
