I think going forward I'll stick with something simple that I know will work.

Arms didn't work, so it just sprayed water through the little tubes, making 6 little sprinkle arms that didn't move.

Hi,

I bought this for my 2 year old and 5 year old. When it first came in I thought it was going to be junk-it looked like it was cheaply built-BUT, when I hooked it up to the hose outside, I was amazed! There is so much water that comes out of it, and in all different directions-it worked very very well. The water that came out was strong.

The only thing I didnt like about it was that sometimes the little tubes that flip around get caught under it, and someone has to "bravely" walk up to it and pull them out-but the center of it spins and water comes out there, and the little hoses on the side squirt water all over. My 5 year old loved it, and played in it for almost 2 hours! My 2 year old loved it-it made him laugh, and kept his attention for a very long time. It is great for the parents too-just make sure you place the sprinkler far enough away from you that you dont get wet-because it does reach very far! Great for a hot day-for both kids and adults! Enjoy it! It has also held up-and hasnt broken at all-its been left outside through storms, sun and tons of use, and it is still working great!

Good sprinkler, but I was dismayed when I opened the box and found that right on the package it said it was sold at Toy's R Us for $12.99! Don't buy at Amazon- go to Toy's R Us!!

First of all, price on the box said $12.99 when it arrived but it was sold to us for $31.99 @ Amazon so I tried to return but Amazon said since it is not their fault (hello??) they will charge for return shipping.

Also, the kids wanted to play so I opened the box, connected to the hose and opened the tap. Could not believe only a small fraction of water (not more than 1/5th) was coming out from the sprinkler and rest was gushing out from the bottom on the ground. I am like a handyman so I opened the screws and found it is not faulty unit but poor mechanics ... they use water pressure to rotate it which is expected but cheap rubber with lot of play was used to connect the pieces without water conservation in mind at all.

We have drought here in TX this summer so I did not feel wasting water was the right thing and so glad our kids understand. When told the kids how precious the water was, they stopped playing and there it went to trash ... it is not even worth @ 12.99 which seems to be its original price.

Not only is this the best sprinkler in the world but it also waters the lawn better then most sprinklers!

Kids love running around cooling off in the sun while Dad loves watering the grass and keeping things green!

I heavily use others' reviews and with this toy I definitely feel I need to pay it forward. We have been through many backyard water toys and this is a keeper. The kids love it and so far it seems very sturdy. One thing - you need plenty of space to fully enjoy it. We tried to use in on the deck of a two story home and it sprays too wide for that - great for back yards.

This sprinkler had great potential and worked great right when the water first comes on (for 5 seconds) and then the arms get stiff and stop whirling about. The arms are what my kids were most excited about, so it was quite a disappointment. We moved the sprinkler to different areas, different hose hook-ups and do not believe it is a problem with too much or not enough water pressure. Because the arms are made of a very thin rubber/plastic, we suspect that the problem MAY be that our water is too cold and the tubes are becoming rigid from the very cold water. Nonetheless, this sprinkler was a disappointment as the water did not spray all that far and the tubes pointed straight out to the side or down towards the ground. A regular oscillating lawn sprinkler (from lawn and garden section) would be more fun.

There's not that many spraying arms therefore if you don't have a very strong or good water pressure it doesn't work well. Kids and parents will both enjoy it!

I recently returned the Water Waterpillar to the store. I purchased for my almost 3 year old in the hopes it would hold up until her birthday in August; but it didn't. After reading the reviews on this one, I decided to order it although it was almost 3 times as much of the others. I'm very please with it after the first use. I think it's most appropriate for children 5 and under. Unlike the other sprinkler, this one actually sprayed off the ground and the arms keep moving. So far worth the money. Oh and the ball in the center spins too which the kids loved. Oh and shipment from social distribution came really fast.
