good game,

SWAT is a pretty good game. the commands to your team mates are simple and it carries penalties for going around shooting like a mad man.The only problem I found with this game is that it is not exactly hard to beat and it can get boring after you beat it the first time. I played it for a few days and I am sick of it already...all you do is the same thing...walk in and shoot. Another disappointing thing is that when you put it on the hardest mode, the characters didn't get more aggressive nor did they shoot any straighter...it only reduces your life from 5 to 3. and give you at least 4/5 restart chances...gimme a break! Originally, I was gonna give this game a 4, but the more I think about it, it doesn't deserve a full 4. I suggest that you rent it first and see if it a game worth buying. Overall, it is a good game.

Wish I did not buy it because the game is really dull and not as good as the other SWAT series games because they have tagged on some sort of a silly story that is not as dramatic as ANY type of SWAT gameplay that we have done before. The graphics however are good and the control easy to use but the game lacks any serious tone or theme, does not have that many functions (3 guns, 5 types of grenades, some updates for guns earned by tokens after you complete a level and 4 or 5 orders you can give to your team mates [max of two only team mates!]). It plays more like some Arcade game as you move about the levels. It is a serious step back in the wrong direction for the SWAT series. I would recommend renting this before you choose to buy it. It is only just okay but the gameplay value is not there and it misses suspense completely. YAWN.Go buy SWAT 3 instead.

This is an intriguing but not wholly satisfying FPS. It's from Sierra, and based on a series of hit PC games. Sierra also produced Half Life, also a PC hit with a PS2 version that appeared a couple of years ago, and which Global Strike Team most closely resembles. The graphics, the movement, the design, all echo the PS2 Half Life.Which is generally fine. The graphics are good enough, if not the sharpest, the movement is fine if a bit rigid, and the action is okay if not particularly distinguished. I was hoping a SWAT based game would offer something different from fighting aliens or futuristic armies. However, the game, like many PC game console versions, seems a bit rushed and never fulfills its potential. For one, it's way too easy, a big turnoff. In normal mode, I blew through the first dozen missions with scant replays. The AI was the same all around, with bumbling criminals with lousy aim who behave the same repeatedly. You play a SWAT team member tracking somebody or other across the globe. The story and plot are just not critical. All you need to do in every mission is know who to shoot and who to capture. You usually face a bunch of thugs, who you can choose to either riddle with holes and kill, or simply wound and then handcuff. You usually have to capture a couple of major suspects on each board, so it's best not to kill them (but maiming is okay.) The weaponry is underwhelming. Off the bat, you get access to a 'machine gun', an 'assault rifle', and a 'shotgun'. Not much detail, but standard FPS weapons. As you progress in the game, you get points you can use to upgrade each weapon, giving them more powerful or specialized ammo, a scope, a silencer, etc. Occasionally you control a team member who snipes, but even these sequences were too easy and lacked any urgency. As for leading your team, you don't even need a headset; the commands are simple and again, very linear. Once you get a hang of the missions, they blow by easily. The game is also way too linear, an element that really dumbs down a lot of shooters, including the EA Bond and Medal of Honor entries. It's also just too easy. An added bonus, however, is the multiplayer mode, which allows for some decent death match fun, though I found this a bit too much like Half Life's multiplayer, which wasn't as smooth or violent as death matches as Red Faction, for instance. I bought this game because it was dropped in price into a 'sweet spot' where it made it worth the less than full PS2 game price. It might be a better rental, and there isn't much innovation or sharp AI. But you can while away some hours blowing away criminal scum, though I was annoyed by the warning not to use 'Excessive Force'. Haven't they realized that blowing away random bystanders and blowing apart the surroundings is half the fun?

This is a game that I completed on one day. This is normally a bad thing but it's a pretty easy game to play. The enemy AI is mostly standing around waiting to get shot. The difficulty level went up (from my experience) is in the number of hits they can take before going down. This game gets 4 stars from me because your team mates aren't idiots, I never ran out of ammo, and the reward system was a nice change from the norm. The game is set up so head shots do more damage etc. The less lethal your tactics are, the more you are rewarded so go ahead and sneak up on the guy and knock him cold...

SWAT?? More like REPEAT.,

This game is a lot of fun...Throughout the first mission. After than it gets a little old, you're always doing the same thing, break down the door, secure, infitrate (repeat in every level of the game). This game is a lot of fu once you get past all of the pepetitiveness. It's really boring, but really fun at the same time. The story is set in the future, and it's a lot of fun to experiment with the "Wepons of the future". And to face enemies with armor...not like james bond where you can kill everyone easily. Overview: Fun- 6/10 a lot of fun to shoot enemies, too repetitive. Graphics- 10/10 very realistic. Gameplay- 5/10 too easy, and too crazy. Difficulty- 4/10 how could it be hard if it's so repetitive. Overall- 25/40 A Pretty average game, even though it has such an awesome idea behind how it is made. The game's premisis is awesome, but it couldn't be translated to the drawing board in the same state. I don't reccomend buying this game without trying it out first and knowing you'd like it 100%. It isn't worth $50, maybe it would be worth 420.

Nothing like what I expected,

If you're a fan of the Sierra computer series Swat then you're in for a surprise this game is really quite different from the Swat series.I was hoping this would be a take off from Swat 3 but it took a different twist. It's more like a shooter and I really didn't rely on by squad to much, rather I just had then open doors for me and when I was low on health I made them parade in front of me. One thing I didn't like about the game is the script, they had wierd lines were they were trying to act tough. It just didn't fit. One nice feture to the game is the gun upgrade, through out the course of the game you get points to use towards you upgrading your guns. This game could have been much better, oh well maybe next time.

I'll admit the game wasn't nearly has fun that i expected it to be. The game was easy to beat, but its good to play if your looking for a mindless game. The gun option was nice. I didn't like that at some points there were vague orders. There is one level i couldn't get to the third floor so i just used a code.
