5.0 out of 5 stars Stew's method's are the best., April 18, 2006

I've bought other books that emphasize workouts for law enforcement personnel but this one is the best I've found. I've just started the workout plan so I can't give testimony of results but I can say that it helped me get over a plateau and ramp up my routines.

I would also like to say thanks to the author. I e-mailed a couple of specific training questions to Stew and he replied right away. I really didn't expect that.

Like all of Stew Smith's programs this one is brutally effective. The workouts are set up in such a way that they are user friendly, no matter if you are a couch potato or an experianced SWAT operator there is a progression (and maintenance) you can use in this program. The exercises are explained and demonstrated perfectly. The workouts are laid out in a common sense progression. I have used several of Mr Smith's workouts in the past with great results and look forward to jumping into this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent motivational book for law enforcement officers, June 7, 2006
This review is from: The SWAT Workout: The Elite Exercise Plan Inspired by the Officers of Special Weapons and Tactics Teams (Paperback)
I am a police officer and hoping to become a SWAT officer in about a year. This book is really motivating and also gives some great workouts applicable to the type of fitness tests utilized by police departments. Stew smith has really done an excellent job by compiling all this information into one book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Push yourself harder than ever..., June 4, 2006
This review is from: The SWAT Workout: The Elite Exercise Plan Inspired by the Officers of Special Weapons and Tactics Teams (Paperback)
Stewart Smith has put together a great book for those interested in a career in law enforcement or who are just looking for an interseting challenge to spice up thier training. Much like his earlier works, maxium fitness and the Navy Seal workout, he puts things in a clear and easy to understand format that can be applied to anyone's training regime. Workouts that start from a beginner to a very advanced level, it will keep you engaged and motivated, and get you in the best shape of your life!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fitness book!, May 15, 2006
This review is from: The SWAT Workout: The Elite Exercise Plan Inspired by the Officers of Special Weapons and Tactics Teams (Paperback)
I bought this book a few weeks ago, read through it, started the workouts and it's pretty solid. If you want to obtain an exceptional fitness level, buy the book and DO the workouts. There a are a variety of different workouts involving running, biking, bodyweight exercises, weights, agility training, etc. You definately won't be bored! Why 4 stars and not 5? The only issue I have so far is that a few of the exercises in the workouts are not in the exercise descriptions. But, if you have any sort of background at all, you'd know what they are, and if not, do a web search. I'm sure they'll correct that in the reprint. Overall, great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Exercise Plan, September 19, 2006

I have been using Stewart Smith's 6 week FBI PT test workout for over a year. The SWAT Workout uses many of the same exercises as the FBI worhout and adds some new ones. The workout program for active duty SWAT team members has more weight exercises than the FBI workout and I really like that. Smith's workout plans are great and can be benefit to all people who like to stay fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to break through a plateau, October 10, 2006
This review is from: The SWAT Workout: The Elite Exercise Plan Inspired by the Officers of Special Weapons and Tactics Teams (Paperback)
I bought this book a little over a month ago, and I must say that it is a great book. The workouts, while incorporating everything from weights to calisthenics, are different than most workout you will have seen before. The workouts require very little in the way of equipment, but do require you to show up every day ready to give 100%. These workouts are not for the weak at heart! I will definitely look into other titles/workouts by Stew Smith.

Well organized, easy to follow. I have used Stew Smith's products before, and have been very impressed with the results. If you put in the time, the results will not be satisfactory, they will be exceptional.
