This review is from: SWORD OF GOLDEN STUD (Mass Market Paperback)
This story THE SWORD OF THE GOLDEN STUD is absolutely fabulous! I love the courage displayed by Jeff Carson or Bricktop (his slave name) in the face of danger. As a black man passing for white in the old South where he is being hunted by the white slave master who wants to beat him, castrate him and kill him, he manages to not only survive but thrive. He first works for Jean Lafitte in the slave trade, but he eventually comes into his own. He is brave, courageous and resilient. He is also a man most women wouldn't mind meeting. Virile, handsome, and well-endowed, in several scenes in the book he takes on two and three women (sometimes black, sometimes white) at once, and all night long, and is still going the next day. What a man! What I liked about him most is that he outwitted his opponents. You have to read it to believe it. I can't wait to read the last book in the series.
