The triumph of painting... what can I say...
I got these Saatchi Gallery books for myself. I was totally psyched. But when they came, I flipped through them and was left less than inspired. From Volume 3: I love Schutz, and have a fondness for a few other artists here. I have books on Shutz, Raedecker and Essenhigh. Those books are much more engaging than this Saatchi pap. In this, volume 2, the art of Ackermann and Althoff are engaging to my eye... but... I was expecting more. The reproductions here are of a superior quality. |
