This knife set offers every piece of cutlery chefs could possibly need—and at a bargain price. The cutlery includes an 8-inch chef’s knife, a 10-inch slicer, an 8-inch slicer, a 6-inch cleaver, an 8-1/2-inch bread knife, a 5-1/2-inch utility knife, a 6-inch boning knife, a 3-1/2-inch paring knife, and eight 4-inch serrated steak knives. The set is complete with an 8-inch sharpening steel for keeping edges sharp and a set of all-purpose kitchen shears. All pieces rest within a hardwood knife block with the Sabatier logo emblazoned on the front.

Made in China, ChefStar knives are more affordable than some of Sabatier’s other French-made knives; however, the same care is taken to ensure quality craftsmanship.The blades are stamped from high-carbon stainless steel that are hollow-ground for easier sharpening and edge retention. The ergonomically designed handles are made of over-molded polymer and offer a comfortable grip. Molded polymer handles are ergonomically designed to give you a comfortable grip on the cutting tools, and a hardwood knife block keeps the set handy on the countertop. This a very bad set of knifes ... I own a similar set of Sabatier Precision, I got them on Amazon ... and I love my set.
The ChefStar knives are very light and not sharp at all!! I don't understand how one company could make two products with such a different quality.

Over time, I bought several different sets of Sabatier knives. I guess you have to look specifically at the model name. This set, ChefStar, is junk. I bought the Elite model before and was quite pleased with it. I expected similar quality for roughly the same price and I was terribly disappointed.
