5.0 out of 5 stars A Simple, Practical & Joyful Guide for ANY Family!
What a delight for those interested in learning more about the Biblical sabbath and how joyful it is to truly find your "rest" in the Messiah! This booklet is a practical guide that will "walk" any believer (Jew or Gentile) through one of the primary Feasts of the Bible (see Leviticus 23:1-3). Blessings in English and Hebrew, songs, recipes, challah...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good starter
I thought this was a good starter booklet for someone who is new to the Sabbath keeping concept. However, as for myself who's been there for a few years, I was actually expecting better. Personally, the thing that mostly disappointed me was that it applied some ritual prayers of Judaism which I believe contradicted the Scriptures. Thank you.

This booklet is a practical guide that will "walk" any believer (Jew or Gentile) through one of the primary Feasts of the Bible (see Leviticus 23:1-3). Blessings in English and Hebrew, songs, recipes, challah cover designs, are just a few of the helpful instructions -- all written in a simple, humble manner. Enjoy! And Shabbat Shalom!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful guide for observing the Sabbath!, November 15, 2007
This review is from: The Sabbath: Entering God's Rest (Paperback)
This little book is a refreshing and informative guide on how you and your family can celebrate and observe the Sabbath that God gave us and commanded us to keep. Unlike many of the Christian books out there about the "Sabbath" (Sunday), this one explains why the Sabbath is actually Saturday. As a Christian seeker of God's truth, I found this book easy to understand, interesting, informative, and very helpful to me and my family.

This review is from: The Sabbath: Entering God's Rest (Paperback)
Part 1 contains information of universal benefit to anyone of any faith. This section utilizes scriptures from both the OT and the NT. It brought up some very helpful material I had not considered previously.

However--and most puzzling--was that the authors discuss in Part 1 how the Sabbath was created long before any Jews existed, and how beneficial it is to all of mankind. They then proceed to use Part 2 to promote traditional Jewish Sabbath practices. Wait a minute..... Didn't you just get done telling me that the Sabbath is not a Jewish institution? Sorry, I just don't get it.

Additionally, it would have helped me a lot if they had used Part 2 to discuss how I can improve my walk with God on the Sabbath, instead of discussing how I can create a nice day with family, friends, and relatives.

The digital edition of this book has been edited down in a just few places, in comparison to the book. The funniest one involves the apostle Paul. The book describes him as an "orthodox" Jew. On the same page in the digital edition, Paul is referred to as an "observant" Jew. Please, someone tell me what that is.

Oh, and if anyone is interested, Part 2 includes a lot of recipes.
