Sabian B8 super set.,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sabian B8 Super Cymbal Set
Sabian B8 Super Cymbal Set On september 1st 2011 I purchased the sabian B8 super set which included 2-14 inch hi hats, a 14 inch thin crash, a 16 inch thin crash, a 18 inch free thin crash, a free 10 inch splash, and a 20 inch ride cymbal. Ive been a drummer for 15 years and playin hard rock/heavy metal for 10 of them. These cymbals sound great, but the packageing was bad. I purchased them as "NEW" cymbals. the top of the box looked like it was sat on or opened prior. theres a plastic bolt and nut thats ment to keep the cymbals together during transport and it was broken and laying at the bottom of the cymbal bag. the Sabian authentisity/warrenty paper was ruffled up badly. These cymbals were posted as NEW, but by the looks of the package you wouldnt know they are new. I looked over them and found no damage or signs of prior use so i let it go, it might of happened during shipping. I really doubt amazom.com would let a damaged product be shipped. But every one of the cymbals sound great though, so the package issues arent that big a deal. the best part is I used the free shipping that usally takes 5-8 days but I live close to where the cymbals were being shipped from. They arrived on september 2nd 2011. which was great cause my birthday was on september 3rd. Now i just need to buy 2 more cymbal stands to use all the cymbals at the same time. I definetly recommend the sabian B8 super pack. to anyone who wants great cymbals but has a tight budget.

I had been aware of these cymbals, but until tonight, never played them before.
To be honest, when reading the reviews from people, when it starts with "For the price..." you have to be very suspicious. I was suspicious. I'm not anymore. I am now convinced that these are garbage. These remind me of a set of Camber cymbals I had years ago. I hated them. These cymbals were brashy and loud but had no temper to the sound --- and they have no real finesse or tone to them. These are the same. The crash doesn't crash in a crisp way at all... really it just rings out, and not in a good way. The splash is not a splash really, it is more of a small crash that again, has no real quality. It doesn't CUT like a splash should, it is low toned and ugly sounding. The ride cymbal is not fun to listen to... really it doesn't cut either. I could go on and on, but here is the take-home: Don't waste your money on them. Save up and get a set of decent Zildjians - you won't be sorry. Listen, I like some Sabian cymbals, but these just plain out blow chunks. Why would anyone be interested in cymbals that are "Good For The Price"? I don't kow about you, but in my mind, a drum-set's cymbals should be as solid and awesome sounding as the rest of the set. "Good For The Price" is akin to selling out your playing. Why would anyone want to put up with "good enough"? ~ Strive for better, really. Don't waste your money on these crappers.

Awesome cymbals for the price,
This review is from: Sabian B8 Super Cymbal Set
I purchased this cymbal set to upgrade the "trash can lids" that came with the kit I had. I was advised and forewarned that these were "begginer" cymbals.First of all, the kit came with more cymbals that I kew what to do with. So I decided to install and check out each cymbal separately. The hi hats have a nice loud and crisp sound. I thought it was a great sound, even for performance levels. The crashes have a great "crash" sound. The crash sound lingeres for a while, giving your accents some depth. The ride is beautiful. Twenty inches of bow with a crisp ring, and a big bell with the loudest ding ever! The little spash is great. With a very quick decay, the splash sound is excellent for quick accents. All in all this cymbal set is great. The B8s are good, solid cymbals, which produce decent sounds. Even though I have acquired two more drum kits and higher quality cymbals, I still keep these because I like the sounds. They are also very solid, and as opposed to some my other more expensive cymbals, these don't feel like you are going to break them if you hit them too hard.
