This is definitely a vehicle to launch next TV Food star. Very attractive author, an exotic but familar cuisine.

Recipes here are very meat oriented: chicken, fish, pork, and beef. Not spicy, only a red/green bell pepper here and there. Lots of rice and beans with garlic and onion, very straight forward. If you like basic Italian and Mexican cuisine you will find a lot to like here, and some new tastes. Everything from soups, entrees, side dishes, desserts, and drinks are well covered.

These recipes could easily be your secret weapon to redeem the same old meat and potatoes without alienating the unadventureous.

Best of all, the food shots are full color excellent, aspiring, and inspiring, kudos to the photographer and food stylist.

At first when I got the book, I was dissapointment, because there were so many pictures of the author,I was ready to return it, but my daughter told me try some recipes if you like them, keep the book. I was so happy to listen to my daughter because now is my favorite book and I am not a good cook, but I was very satisfied with the results of the recipes I am glad I never returned, and you don't want to know how many Cuban Cooking books I have, now is the only one I use it. Thanks.

This book is the best Cuban cuisine cookbook I have purchased ever! I have an extensive library of cookbooks and I especially love the Cuban cuisine books since I am of Cuban heritage. The recipes are very authentic, just as my mother, aunts and grandmother made in their kitchens. The book is very "homey" and down to earth. The recipes are what you would see served in a typical Cuban home. I finally found the Cuban cookbook I had been searching for!

This is such a great book. The recipes are amazing. It was always hard for me to get exact measurements from my mother for these recipes. Now I have them forever. Fantastic!

Cool book, we have most of the Cuban cookbooks on amazon, this book we ordered and ordered three more for the wife's sisters. My Cuban wife, who is an excellent cook, likes the book, and uses many of the recipes, she has also read the text associated with all the recipes

These recipes are wonderful.. the food has all the cuban secrets that my Mom uses so the food comes out deliciosa.

I've given this book to all my young relatives starting with our daughter... lots of easy authentic Cuban recipes, written simply and with lots of fun details about Cuban cooking...

I'm Cuban and purchased this book because it came highly recommended by a fellow Cuban blogger. I wholeheartedly agree -- the recipes are authentic and the photos of the food look delicious. However, was it necessary to include countless pictures of the author with the recipes? Yes, we know she's attractive, but I was beginning to think I had bought an autobiography, not a cookbook. The cover shot was sufficient to get the point across that, yes, she's a good looking woman who knows how to cook Cuban food.

I'm always looking for ways to recreate some of our favorite dishes that we eat at local cuban restaurants. This book comes close. Recipes are easy to follow, without a lot of hard to find ingredients! I have not had a chance to make any of the recipes but I did thoroughly look thru the cookbook when I received it. If I can I will update my review as soon as I get back to cooking!!

Honestly, I didn't need ANOTHER cookbook, but this one looked so enticing...I'm so glad I purchased it. What I love about it most is that nearly every recipe has a picture and everything looked not only easy to follow but simply scrumptious!
