There's not much to say about this product other than that it works. Plug in a tablet or smartphone and it will start charging the device at the same rate as its wall plug. It has adequate capacity to charge an iPhone or similar mobile phone several times and bring a dead tablet maybe to 80% or thereabouts.
The battery has two USB ports, one that supplies 1 amp of power, the other 2.1 (for tablets and other larger devices). My initial testing found that both plugs would not work simultaneously, but subsequent tests worked fine. Both an iPhone 5s and iPad Air reported they were receiving ample power to charge.
The battery itself charges at a slower 1 amp rate. I recommend plugging this in well in advance of any travel to ensure it has enough charge for your devices. It will only work with devices that charge via USB.
As noted in the other reviews the documentation is very poorly translated. But given that this thing isn't all that complicated to use it's excused - especially at this price point.
I found that the device allows me to get several recharges on my Google Nexus which is notorious for eating battery life. During the day, I can quickly recharge the device if the battery gets critical and I'm not near an outlet to plug into. (Think airport, office, etc...)
The battery is small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and not "very heavy". I've been happy with the amount of time that the battery will hold a full charge between usages. It doesn't "bleed" off like some other devices.
The battery can take awhile to recharge, so be sure to charge it the night before or when you have several hours available.
Construction is really good and I like the charge indicator lights. The device is sleek and well made from my use so far. It's earned a spot in my travel bag.

The external charger is a great unit to have if you use your smartphone or tablet heavily, are traveling, are camping, or need one just in case. I can't count the number of times myself or someone I've been with couldn't use their phone because their battery was almost dead or their battery died. If you have one of these charging units all you do is connect your phone or tablet to it via the device's USB charging cable. You can use your phone or tablet while it's charging or just let the charger charge do its thing.
CHARGING TEST OF IPHONE, SABRENT 12,000, & IPAD:
I previously tested the Sabrent 6100mA which provided nearly 3 full charges of my iPhone 4S but gave a dismal 30% boost on my iPad's battery. Given the mA rating difference between the 2 external chargers I expected to see a near doubling of those numbers. I was extremely impressed that the 12,000mA more than doubled those numbers!
I charged the Sabrent 12,000mA fully before starting the test. On a full battery, the charger provided enough juice to fully charge my iPhone a little over 6 times, that's about a weeks worth of iPhone charging on a single charge of the 12,000,mA. Amazing!!!Read more ›
Easy to use and great capacity make this an excellent selection in a backup battery charger.
Wish this included an ac adapter but other than that it works perfectly.
