I could not get this to charge my laptop while it was on. It charges the battery if the laptop is OFF, and it runs the laptop if the battery is taken out, but it would not do both at the same time. I did get it to work with my smaller less powerful netbook. I am unsure if this is a limitation of my car or the converter.

Overall this was a good deal.

The product is good. I use it to charge my cell phone and occasionally power my laptop. I will recommend this product.

i bought the Kinamax AC-12VDC 100W Car 12V DC to 110V AC Power Converter Inverter off amazon because it was half the price of the ones i can find in the store. i have been using it for a month now and so far it has worked great for me. i can use it to power my laptop and gps at the same time which has come in handy when your car only has one DC outlet. this only problem i found with this is with my car it will jam the AM radio stations. other than that this product is a great buy.

I am writing this review after over 15 months of use. I am very happy with this purchase. Now I can use my Laptop with full AC power in my car, while my HTC HD2 mobile is charged by its USB outlet and I can still use the cigarette lighter outlet blocked by this device, as it extends one. Awesome. I like that it also has a fan to keep it cool. Really a good n useful device...

I bought this unit to charge my camera batteries while on the road but it didn't work. I tried both a Canon and a Nikon battery each using a different battery charger and neither would charge. They draw so little current there should have been no problem. I assume the unit was faulty and returned it to Amazon for full credit including shipping.
