Double your iPhone's short-lived battery and go for more than a full day away from an outlet. When you do need to plug in, simply connect the included USB cable to a charging port to simultaneously charge both internal and external batteries. And, with full MFI Apple certification of the Lightning connector, no need to worry about incompatibility or harming your phone.
Protection made perfect.
Only doubling the iPhone's thickness (adds 0.37in), the reinforced industrial-grade plastic case creates prime protection for your prime phone. Precise cutouts around buttons and camera, microphone pin holes, and an audio jack extender keep everything fully accessible. We've even enabled charging and data transfer through the micro USB port. Now that's perfection.

It comes with a microUSB cable for charging the case and the phone. When your phone is not full, it will charge the phone first then charge the case when iPhone gets to 100%. Tip: This is common to many electronic devices. When your phone gets close to 100%, says 95%, it takes more effort to get to a full charge. It is a good idea to charge your case separately so it charges faster. But if you have time and likes simple convenience, you can just leave it plugged altogether.
Remaining battery can be checked by pressing the button on the back. The 4 LEDs correspond to 25% each. A full charge will show all 4 LEDs lit up. For added convenience, the case has a folding kickstand which can be useful if you are watching movies.

The case is easy to use in terms of getting the iPhone in and out. The battery portion of the case is like an additional back panel on the phone, so you just have to plug the phone onto the lightning plug on the lower edge of the case. You then clip on one of the side protectors (one is black, the other clear) to lock the phone onto the case. The side protector has all the necessary cutouts for ports and buttons, and everything is accessible. The only thing that isn't fully accessible when using the case is the headphone jack, but Sabrent handles that by including a short extension cord that plugs into the jack and offers a plug-in port that sits outside the case.
As for power, I was able to get a bit more than a full additional charge from the case when I was recharging. The recharging takes a bit more than 1% per minute, so to fully recharge from zero it took around 110 minutes. However, you shouldn't need to let your phone get down that far, as you can just top off the power by turning on the battery case via the button on the back side. There's a micro-USB port on the side of the case, so you can leave the phone in the case and charge both using that method. As you'd expect, having the battery built into the phone case does add weight and bulk to the phone.Read more ›
The case itself is easy to install. You slide your iPhone into the case and onto the lightning connector, then push it back into the case to ensure a nice tight fit. The front of the case extends slightly beyond the screen, meaning you can place your phone face down on a flat surface without the possibility of scratching the screen.
The case adds very little in terms of weight or added length/width to the phone, which is very nice. You can remove the black frame and use the included clear frame if you don't like the look of the black.
The back has the battery indicators. Just press the power button and it will show you charge levels. If your phone is installed in the case, it will immediately being charging. Also on the back is a kick stand, which is nice if you want to watch videos or view photos without having to hold the phone in your hand.
In terms of build quality, this is maybe the only complaint area I have. The material used feels like cheap plastic. Even worse, it looks like cheap plastic. The thing is, it actually feels quite stable and other than the finish looking cheap, it feels like a quality piece of hardware.
The included 2400 mAh battery should have no problem provided 1.2 full charges to your iPhone 5(s/c). While it is rated at 2400 mAh, battery efficiency means you don't get 100% of what you put in to charge back out, thanks to physics. This isn't an issue, and you definitely get at least 100% of a charge off of a full battery case.Read more ›

This case is fine, though fitment is a bit rough. It likes to loosen up after going in and out of the pocket. Still, for extra energy it's a decent solution.Published 13 months ago by erkelbot
