Cute optical laptop mouse with auto-rectracting (like a window shade) USB cord is perfect for occasional use. Small enough to stuff in laptop case. Though tiny, it is easier to use than laptop touch pads. Compatible with Windows (no driver needed) and the tracking/motion/action is smooth.

Since it cost so little and work so well, I buy one for each laptop ordered and simply slip it inside the laptop bag before handing the new laptop out.

This mini mouse was easy to install, just plug it in. And worth the $6 so far. My only issue with it is that it doesn't work on most surfaces. The optical mouse I've been using for about 4 years now is a GE and will work on just about any surface. I thought that was the advantage of optical??? But this Kinamax is very picky, it won't work on my vinyl desktop or on a piece of paper, the pointer will move way to slow or jump around inconsistently. It works on cardboard and of course on a mouse pad. So if you buy this mouse just know that you'll have to take a mouse pad along as well.

You get what you pay for.
Mouse is jumpy and cursor travels/roams when left stationary.

My mouse already stopped working after only having it for 1 month. Not that it ever really "worked". It's useless on most surfaces. I always had to have a few pieces of paper to put under it so that the laser would reflect properly. It's ridiculously sensitive to movement at some times, but doesn't detect movement at all other times (even with the paper). Definitely wouldn't recommend. You'll come out saving money if you buy a more expensive one, because you'll just end up having to replace this poor excuse for a mouse.

Other reviewers said they like the mouse, but it just doesn't work for me. I've tried several surfaces and 3 different computers. The click button is working, but the pointer/cursor doesn't move.
I also purchased a Logitech notebook mouse which works great. Although the chord is not retractable, it's more expensive but much better. I recommend instead of this one.

Ok! So first 2 weeks was a so so. It doesn't work on many surfaces. Third week, it didn't work at all. I agree with other people that it's small and light weight, easy to carry around and fits really well in my small hands. But i feel it should work after 3 weeks . I think it's the laser in it. I am going back to the rolling mouse ball on top.

Did not work out of the box. Vista detected it and installed a generic driver for it. The mouse lights up but moving it around or clicking on the buttons has no effect on the cursor. Trying various surfaces and mouse pad does not change anything.
The mouse came in today and I am sending it back tomorrow.

I rated this at one star only because that's the lowest rating available. It deserves no stars.

The good - it was cheap and came with free shipping.

The bad - it is useless, and not worth my time returning it. Its in the trash.

Right out of the box it has the annoying habit of randomly dancing the pointing arrow in a shaking pattern. This happens whether the mouse is being moved or is at rest, and with the mouse on any surface. Happens about every ten to fifteen seconds and lasts about five seconds or until the mouse is moved.

After years of using a tracking pad, I finally broke down and decided to buy a mouse. I wanted something small that I could store with my latop and wouldn't require alot of dealings with long cords.

After I purchased this mouse, I was (like the other reviewers) extremely happy with it. It was small and I had no problem with it when I plugged it in. However, after about a year of using it, the cord would become easily tangled when trying to retract it and eventually because it is pulled at when you are retracting the cord, it shorted out.

The device itself is a wonderful idea. The cord and the retract knob are a little cumbersome but when it is compared to the other larger mouses with the long cords....this would be a better idea.

I haven't had this mouse for long (just a few months), and I really don't use my laptop very much these days, but it seems this little device is doing just fine. I really like the retractable cable; it's the main reason I bought it. Size is perfect for me, and center wheel is smooth. This mouse is much more convenient than using the laptop touchpad. Everything works great right now, so I can't attest to durability. But how much can go wrong???
