Works great with television sets as monitor or to add a second monitor up to a laptop to get 3 monitors.
D. Neumeister
There is nothing wrong with the computer- when the monitor using the pluggable adapter freezes, the other monitor works just fine.
Rob
Also, setup was easy, just plugged in the USB cord and Windows 7 x64 detected it and installed the DisplayLink drivers.

I bought this adapter to connect a third monitor (1280x1080) to my iMac with 2.66GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and OS X 10.6.4. I downloaded the OS X driver from the manufacturer website, installed it, restarted and connected the monitor. Works just great and delivers a great picture. On more reason to like this adapter is that it comes super complete with adapters for VGA and HDMI and a USB cable. Given the fact that Apple takes 30 Dollars just for a Mini Displayport to DVI adapter (which, of course, you can also buy here at Amazon for $10) I find the $50 that I paid for this USB adapter a reasonable solution to connect another monitor to an iMac.

Bought it online at Amazon for under $50. Plugged it in and Windoze recognized it immediately. I added it through the standard display GUI and was up and running in less than 5 minutes and have had zero problems with it. I don't run games or anything with high speed graphics - mostly spreadsheets and static data. For my purposes, it works absolutely great and doesn't slow down my laptop at all. I have 3 monitors total - 1 laptop - 1 external to laptop and 1 via DisplayLink.

I first heard about USB display adapters about two years ago. Back then, they were between $100 and $200 and a bit buggy and often very laggy. I chose this one based on the positive reviews and the price in order to have a lower end laptop use more than two displays at a time. I didn't realize until it arrived that it also came with adapters which allowed me to use VGA and HDMI. (The HDMI to DVI adapter is especially nice, IMO)

I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on my company's computer. I plugged my display into the adapter, plugged the adapter into my computer, waited, and it worked. It took a few moments to connect to Windows Updates to download the drivers, but the entire process worked unassisted. Additionally, as I was flipping through the included instructions to pass the time as Windows Update searched for the drivers, I was pleased to see that the instructions explicitly stated "You don't need to use the CD or download the drivers unless Windows Update doesn't work." I applaud Sabrent for not pushing their software/drivers on us.

So far, it's been brilliant. The color temperature between displays connected via the USB adapter and the one connected to the laptop is spot on. No artifacting, lag, or color difference. I'm quite happy with this product. I'm actually going to be buying at least two more this week for some other fun multi-display projects I've been putting off due to lack of powerful enough video hardware.

I bought it as to connect my third LCD monitor to my laptop for the flight simulator. I am using DVI but have used VGA as well. The nvidia card pumps enough horses to display good quality graphics. Tested with movies and there is no pixel refresh lags.
Overall the best product there is. Will buy more for my work.

I have this hooked up for a double-monitor and when the computer goes to sleep, the second monitor doesn't always come back on when I move the mouse or press a key to wake it back up. I end up having to unplug the USB from the back of the computer and plug it back in for the screen to come on. It's great when it works, but it doesn't work all the time and that's frustrating.

This adapter is a great accessory for my netbook. Because of its small screen, the netbook's onboard graphics adapter is limited to 800x600 resolution, even when I plug my 17" monitor into the VGA port. With the Plugable USB adapter, I am now able to hook up to the larger monitor and display much more content on its screen.

I purchased the Plugable UGA-125 USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI Adapter as my laptop monitor no longer worked. I already had an external monitor plugged into it, but I wanted another monitor. This was a great (cheap) solution. I highly recommend the item and the seller.
