--[REVIEW AFTER A MONTHS USE]--

I got this hub because I needed a few more ports on my MacBook. It works exactly as specified and the speeds are just as good as every other USB hub that I have used. My favorite feature is the On/Off switch. I love this because if you have it in your dorm or something, the bright blue LED light won't keep you up all night.

Pros:
-Speed is great
-Lightweight
-ON/Off switch
-Matte black so it doesn't show fingerprints
-very portable
-Cable is thick and feels durable

Cons:
-Could be slightly smaller
-LED could be a little dimmer

Overall, this is something that you can't go wrong with. This is a great product and after a months use, i have had no issues at all.

The USBs have to re-install when you use the port but that only takes a minute. I love the port, I glued it to the desk so it can be just a permanent object. The wire is short, yes, but if you usually use your laptop in the same place on your desk, I suggest taping it or gluing it if you are OCD like I am. The port does turn off when the laptop is asleep or off, so you don't really have to switch the power button off on it.

Getting USB hubs to work well with laptops is not always easy, but this one did the job.

I plugged in two optical drives and also two flash drives at the same time and it supported all without power issues or driver issues.

Other usb 3.0 hubs have crashed my laptop most times I've used them. I was relieved this one worked without extra configuration steps.

I like the power on/off switch too. Nice bonus most hubs don't have.

Speed seemed okay when copying files from one drive to the other drive plugged into the hub too.

No cons so far.

I like having the short usb cable that this comes with, but some may want longer cable. But this may be a tradeoff to make this product robust, which is well work it.

The hub works fine for my needs. Some how I burned out of my ports and was in need of an extra for awhile but was in no rush to fix it. All This changed when i needed more ports though. I don't really see the speed increase but really I don't really pay attention when I transfer files anyways. There are a few bad things about this product though. 1. The cord is too stiff. If doesn't have a lot of give or flexibility. I guess this is do to the shortness of the cord. 2. It is very light which is not that bad of a think but if you mix short cord with having all the ports in use on it then you come out with a HUB that will not stay still when you move a device around. My solution for this was to use some strong double sided tape to keep it in place. This works for me. Over This is a good product. Oh yeah the switch does come in handy when you don't want to see the bright blue light at light. Doesn't bother me to much though...

This 3.0 hub works far better than any of my 2.0 hubs and adds a twist with the power switch. My old hubs
seemed to be overloaded with more than 2 devices hooked up, this one has handled everything that I have hooked up,
and the switch adds flexibility.

This hub rocks, I had a little difficulty getting the drivers loaded, it seems best if you plug in one device then turn on hub and wait for drivers to load, then plug in next device and wait for drivers to load, etc..... if you turn off hub and plug in 4 devices and turn on hub it seems to have a hard time loading multiple drivers at the same time, eventually it times out. that is the only problem I have had with the hub, I am using it with a high speed USB AC-1600 wireless Internet adapter, a Seagate 4TB USB 3.0 External hard drive, a USB 3.0 printer/scanner, and a USB keyboard. All plugged into the Sabrent 4 port USB 3.0 hub, I have been able to scan and print while doing a backup to external drive with no difference in speed as compared to no backup running, so the USB 3.0 speeds are awesome. There seems to be no speed lost by having four devices on hub as compared to having one device plugged directly into USB 3.0 port on computer.

It's a USB 3.0 hub. Ideally, I'd be able to just leave it at that, but I ultimately returned this unit because there were just too many annoyances. There are better options out there, and I'd suggest you spend a bit more and go for one of them.

PROS
+ USB 3.0 speeds work as advertised. Speedy transfer, and you're liable to saturate the bandwidth of whatever you have attached before the hub becomes your bottleneck.
+ Solid construction. It feels well made, and I had no concerns that it was going to break because I tossed it into a bag and looked at it the wrong way. That said...

CONS
- Awkward form factor. It's very boxy, with some sharp edges that makes tossing it into a bag a little more of a chore than you'd expect.
- Short, short cable. For some uses, this would be fine; that said, I only intended to use this as a desktop hub and I still found the cable to be too short to accommodate for even a basic bend around my tower's chassis. I'd get one with just a few more inches of play.
- Somewhat buggy firmware. Your mileage may vary, but on a fully updated copy of Windows 8.1 Pro I was seeing some kernel problems that occasionally decided to rear an ugly head. I was able to work around it without much issue, but it was certainly annoying.

Wouldn't buy this again, but if you know just what you're after it's perfectly serviceable.

Just got this. I spent probably four hours looking at hubs, reading about USB 2.0 vs 3.0 and backwards compatibility. Read the warnings about usage of 3.0 hubs with 2.4 Mhz wireless devices. In short, did my research and was very excited to use my new hub as just today, I had to unplug my wireless mouse receiver in order to use a flash drive.

First thing it did was kill my portable hard drive. Not after I plugged my hard drive in to the hub, but when I connected the empty hub to my computer. My hard drive still reads, so I will immediately try to extract the data, but now it makes sounds like R2D2 being tortured, sounds I have never, ever heard a computer device make.

Additionally, my wireless mouse receiver doesn't work when plugged into the hub. The only thing it does at the moment is power my external speakers, a process which involves no data transfer. It goes without saying that I am reluctant to test a flash drive in my awesome new hub.

So, after much deliberation, I'm going with a "Don't F#$@ing Buy" recommendation.

CLARIFICATION: This review is strictly about the product being reviewed and in no way should reflect poorly on the seller of the item, Store4PC.

Store4PC responded immediately upon seeing the above review and offered me a free replacement. Store4PC provided excellent customer service, and I will definitely order from them again.

If you travel a lot and need additional USB ports, this is what you need. This is a lot better than traveling with a docking station.

Works great, I especially like the power switch. If you have encrypted drives or thumb drives when you turn off the hub power switch it locks the encrypted drives. Turning the hub power switch on would then require passwords for the encrypted drives.
That being said the hub sets up quickly and works great for expansion of USB 3 outlets.
By the way I use this on my 17" HP laptop.
