This review is from: Sabrent SC-PVS4 4-Channel CCTV DVR Surveillance System Video Security PCI Capture Card (Electronics)
Bought this card because, amomg other things, it works at 120FPS (30 per camera) instead of 30FPS (7.5 per camera)- Also offers free software upgrades for this Ether9404 pci card at the Mfg.'s website: wave-p.com.
I'm using 3 Swann Maxi/day/night 420 lines/resolution cameras, 1/4" Sony Super HAD; 6mm lens and 1 gadspot.com thats similiar but has 480 lines/resolution & 3.6mm lens.
This card handles them well with a clean video image and does 640X480 easily, however the card gets so hot I can SMELL the burning electrical odor coming from my PC! Going to buy & install small heatsinks for each chip. But waddaYa expect for 22.50! LOL
Software is only OK as it will NOT do motion detection!
As long as Ya just use it to monitor & manually push the record button or record continously, it seems to work OK. Tried other S/W but found nothing better that would actually work......
This card uses a Phillips SAA7130 & 4 ADC chips instead of the more common BT8**** so it appears I'm stuck UNLESS Ya wanna try UBUNTU O/S with ZoneMinder in place of Windows XP PRO. -IMHO-
DE!! 530, C2D E7300 @ 2.66, 640Gb WD AAKS, 3Gb DDR2 800Mhz, cheap ATI X600 graphics card, Antec 380W PSU.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good DVR Card for the price, November 27, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sabrent SC-PVS4 4-Channel CCTV DVR Surveillance System Video Security PCI Capture Card (Electronics)
I order this card from amazon, and have it for a week with 1 cam, the manufacture is (http://www.wave-p.com/) and the card is reconize as ether9404, i got a updated version of the DVR program from the website.
you will get a little more info about this card on http://www.cctvforum.com i will order more cams to test this fully, for the price this is a good product and easy to use. Down point is there is NO wdm driver for if you want to use this card with other programs. for wdm drivers choose a card with BT878 or BT848 chip on it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Motion detection doesn't work, October 28, 2008

This review is from: Sabrent SC-PVS4 4-Channel CCTV DVR Surveillance System Video Security PCI Capture Card (Electronics)
The Sabrent SC-PVS4 4-Channel CCTV DVR Surveillance System Video Security PCI Capture Card is a good idea.It has 4 independently processors to decode your video. It ran 4 cameras at 640-480 with no drag. The trouble is the motion detection does not work, I have tried different drivers for the card and a different program (webcam) and the motion detection just will not work. I can't find any help on the net for tech support.
