Saturated Grooves, May 20, 2002

This review is from: Sabrina Judge (Audio CD)
I came across this album accidently and found myself completely overtaken by the rich layered musical textures and complex vocal arrangements. I wondered to myself, where has this Sabrina Judge been? She is so in command of her material. Her poetic lyrics describe more than just the usual rock/rap/'young woman in rock' confessional style song. It's a mix of Leonard Cohen and Patty Smith. Hard-soft-ironic-spiritual(?). And then the groove. It is just so wonderful to encounter something so smart, so layered, and yet so hip-swayingly good.
