5.0 out of 5 stars Great show!
I used to watch this show when I was a kid, and I loved it. I bought Season 1 when it came out, and I was very excited to see that Season 2 was on the way. I think that the show is great--it's clever, funny, has lots of positive moral messages (even though they can sometimes be cheesy :)), and the first few seasons are the best ones (In my opinion, during Sabrina's...

I was soo happy to get Sabrina the Teenage witch, I was just super exitied! It was my favorite TV show for so many years...but i was so disapointed with the DVDs! They cut stuff out!!! I recorded them on VHS off the TV so i could watch them way back when it first aired, so i have been re-watching them on VHS for years, and I was mad when the TV station cut stuff out, But to put it onto DVD with the stuff cut out, that is WRONG! I am so MAD! I looked forward to haveing the entire episodes...but I have the TV cuts of it. This sucks. They cut out some of my favorite parts
For example, in Witchs Licance part 2, Hild, Zelda, and Salem go to the other realm to get a lab top. Remember that? And Hilda got into an argument with a kid to push a button that said, 'Don't Push'. So it was hard to get the joke that came next at the house.
You may think that it is so little, but since it was my favorite TV show, it hurts. It majorly sucks. I feel like i got a ripped off copy of it out of a guys jacket in an ally. I am actully about in tears over this. This rediculous!

This review is from: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - The Second Season (DVD)
I used to watch this show when I was a kid, and I loved it. I bought Season 1 when it came out, and I was very excited to see that Season 2 was on the way. I think that the show is great--it's clever, funny, has lots of positive moral messages (even though they can sometimes be cheesy :)), and the first few seasons are the best ones (In my opinion, during Sabrina's college years, the show goes downhill).

In Season 2, Sabrina's friend, Jenny, seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Instead, Sabrina makes friends with Valerie. Also joining the regular cast is Martin Mull as Mr. Kraft--hilarious. Additionally, Sabrina is regularly bothered by her Quiz Master as she works towards her Witch's License.

Personally, I find most of my favorite episodes on Season 2!

Season 2 is composed of 4 discs, and is very similar to Season 1 (except with Season 2 material, obviously). There are no special features, nor are there subtitles.

Here are the episodes of Season 2:
Sabrina Gets Her License (Part I)
Sabrina Gets Her License (Part II)
Dummy for Love
Dante's Inferno
A Doll's Story
Sabrina, the Teenage Boy
A River of Candy Corn Runs Through It
Inna Gadda Sabrina
Witch Trash
To Tell a Mortal
Oh What a Tangled Spell She Weaves
Sabrina Claus
Little Big Kraft
Five Easy Pieces of Libby
Finger Lickin' Flu
Sabrina and the Beanstalk
The Equalizer
The Band Episode
When Teens Collide
My Nightmare, the Car
Fear Strikes Up a Conversation
Quiz Show
Disneyworld
Sabrina's Choice
Rumor Mill
Sabrina vs. Magic

I may not be a kid anymore, but I still love this show!

4.0 out of 5 stars second season of magical fun!, June 19, 2008

This review is from: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - The Second Season (DVD)
The second season of SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH delivers pretty much the same high standard of witty scripts and imaginative story premises. Melissa Joan Hart stars as Sabrina Spellman, your average 17-year-old schoolgirl with one magical twist: she's a witch! As if being a teenager wasn't hard enough, in Season Two of the magical sitcom, Sabrina must juggle her hectic highschool activities with studying for her witches' license.

In Season Two, Sabrina gets a new best friend, Valerie (Lindsay Sloane), and her relationship with Harvey (Nate Richert) starts getting serious. Still on hand to cause nothing but trouble is snotty teen queen Libby (Jenna Leigh Green); whilst Vice Principal Kraft (Martin Mull) and timid teacher Mrs Quick (Mary Gross) add some new comedy elements to the Westbridge High scenes. As per usual, all the best lines go to Sabrina's feline offsider Salem (voiced by Nick Bakay), with her two aunts Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick) coming close behind.

COMPLETE EPISODE LISTING:

"Sabrina Gets Her License (Part 1)" - On her 17th birthday, Sabrina finds herself overwhelmed with school, her boyfriend Harvey and having to study for her witches' license. Guest starring Erik Estrada.

"Sabrina Gets Her License (Part 2)" - Because she hasn't been studying for her license, her new Quizmaster (Alimi Ballard) informs Sabrina that she's going to have to serve time at a witches' boot-camp.

"Dummy for Love" - Sabrina uses her magic and plays cupid between Mr Kraft and Aunt Hilda, so that Mr Kraft will be nicer to Harvey.

"Dante's Inferno" - Hilda and Zelda feel their niece should start dating other guys. So they set Sabrina up with a cute warlock named Dante (Jason James Richter), who has no patience for mortal ways. Guest starring Teri Garr and Davy Jones.

"A Doll's Story" - After she volunteers to babysit bratty Cousin Amanda (Emily Hart), Sabrina gets turned into a doll and locked away in Amanda's toybox. Guest starring Paul Dooley and Donna D'Errico.

"Sabrina, the Teenage Boy" - Sabrina transforms herself into a boy to see what Harvey is like around other guys. Meanwhile, Aunt Hilda becomes a biker in order to scare off Mr Kraft.

"A River of Candy Corn Runs Through It" - The first mortal Halloween party held at the Spellman residence starts out dull...until the furniture starts arguing and a river of candy-corn explodes into the loungeroom! Featuring an appearance from 10,000 Maniacs.

"Inna-Gadda-Sabrina" - When Salem swallows a time-ball and transports everyone back to the swingin' 60's, Sabrina is delighted, until she realises how oppressed the women are... Guest starring Wendy Worthington.

"Witch Trash" - Harvey and Valerie get locked in Sabrina's house by her strange hillbilly relatives (Edie McClurg, Gary Grubbs and Loni Anderson), who resent the fact that the teen witch has inherited the Spellman magic book. Guest starring Alice Ghostley.

"To Tell a Mortal" - On Friday the 13th, Sabrina is permitted to tell Harvey and Valerie that she is a witch, since they will forget by midnight. But then rival Libby finds out... Guest starring Drew Carey and Caroline Williams.

"Oh What a Tangled Spell She Weaves" - The Quizmaster warms Sabrina to clean up her spells and make them more precise. But when she ignores his advice, the results prove chaotic... Guest starring Beth Grant and Bob Goldthwait.

"Sabrina Claus" - While trying to work on her selfish attitude, Sabrina accidentally injures the real Santa Claus and then must do his job for him on Christmas Eve. Guest starring John Ratzenberger and Johnny Mathis.

"Little Big Kraft" - Sabrina casts a spell that gives Mr Kraft a whole new free-spirited lease on life. But then he starts acting younger, and younger, and younger...

"Five Easy Pieces of Libby" - As a test, the Quizmaster turns Libby into a puzzle. Sabrina learns more about her misunderstood rival as she pieces her back together again.

"Finger Lickin' Flu" - Our teen witch comes down with a severe case of "finger flu", and accidentally gives magical powers to Mrs Quick.

"Sabrina and the Beanstalk" - After Harvey accidentally eats some magical jumping beans, he flies up a giant beanstalk and encounters a wicked witch who wants to eat him... Guest starring Shelley Long.

"The Equalizer" - Roland the troll returns, vowing to make Sabrina his bride and exact revenge on Harvey. Guest starring Phil Foncadero and Patrick Thomas O'Brien.

"The Band Episode" - Sabrina's friendship with Harvey and Valerie suffers after they team up to create a rock-band. With a special appearance from The Backstreet Boys.

"When Teens Collide" - Chaos rules the halls of Westbridge after the personalities of Sabrina and Libby swap over! Guest starring Henry Gibson.

"My Nightmare, the Car" - Sabrina buys a car from the Other Realm and shares it with Valerie... Guest starring Buddy Hackett as the voice of the car.

"Fear Strikes Up a Conversation" - After casting a spell which removes her nervousness about speaking at assembly, Sabrina notices her fears coming out in other people; and an overworked Zelda suffers from a case of "witch-snap". Guest starring Steve Allen.

"Quiz Show" - Sabrina accidentally causes her Quizmaster to get fired; and when Aunt Zelda helps out at school, her favourite student becomes Libby. Guest starring Ashlee Levitch.

"Disneyworld" - A school trip to the Magic Kingdom becomes the setting for Sabrina's latest test.

"Sabrina's Choice" - After continuously pitting Zelda and Hilda against one another, Sabrina is forced by the Witches' Council to decide which aunt she wants to live with...for good. Guest starring RuPaul.

"Rumor Mill" - When Sabrina and Dashiell (Donald Faison) are assigned to community service in the Other Realm, she has fun making up stories about her friends...hurtful stories which eventually manifest themselves into reality.

"Mom Vs. Magic" - The Witches' Council tries to force Sabrina to choose between her magical powers and being able to contact her mother. Meanwhile, Salem's mother (Louise Sorel) arrives for a visit.

4.0 out of 5 stars shame about the editing, August 19, 2007
This review is from: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - The Second Season (DVD)
I eagerly waited for this to come out on DVD and though the show is still great it's a shame that they have included cut version episodes for the DVD. A couple of the episodes don't make as much sense because there seem to be bits cut from them. They have also changed the music on one of the episodes. It's not a huge deal but it does take something away from the overall quality of the collection. The episodes improve more and more towards the end of the DVD where the show seems to get into its stride a bit more. I love the Disneyworld episode. I love Salem...I actually find myself believing he's a real cat! Overall, great. Only gets 4 stars because episodes have been cut and because there are no extras. A behind the scenes look would be nice

Season two of this show holds a special place in my heart. It was the season I started watching, so these characters seem like the original cast of the show to me. Additionally, it still contains some of my favorite episodes.

Sabrina Spellman (Melissa Joan Hart) is turning 17, the year that young witches get their license. Of course, it isn't that easy. Over the next year, Sabrina has to pass a series of tests given at random times by her Quizmaster (Alimi Ballard). She does get some guidance from her aunts Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick). Rounding out her home life is Salem their talking cat (voiced by Nick Bakay).

And she still has to try to survive high school where she makes a new friend in Valerie (Lindsay Sloan). Harvey (Nate Richert), Sabrina's sometimes boyfriend, is still around. Unfortunately, so is head cheerleader Libby (Jenna Leigh Green) who delights in making Sabrina's life as miserable as possible.

This is also the season that Aunt Zelda buys the labtop, a folding chemistry lap that fits right on their table. And it introduces Vice Principal Kraft (Martin Mull) who has a crush on Aunt Hilda at this point even as he delights in making Sabrina's life miserable.

Over the course of this season, Sabrina dates a witch who hates mortals, is turned into a doll by her spoiled cousin, tries to have a normal Halloween party despite the talking furniture, turns Libby into a puzzle, and grows a giant beanstalk right outside their house. Meanwhile, the entire cast heads to Disney's new Animal Kingdom theme park in an episode that aired two days after the park opened.

And this season also includes my favorite episode of the series. Sabrina learns that she can tell one mortal she is a witch on Friday the 13th. When the day is over, will she be glad that she told Valerie?

This show is pretty silly. I admit it. But I enjoy the light humor. I don't have to do anything but sit back, relax, and laugh. It's definitely a guilty pleasure.

And what makes it work are the characters. Oh, sure, they are all over the top. But the writers and actors do a good job of making us love them (or love to hate them in the case of Kraft and Libby.)

And you can't fault the special effects. Every episode has plenty of them, and they all work well.

Unfortunately, this set is just the episodes themselves with no bonus features. Still, with 26 episodes, it is a good deal for fans.

This isn't a show I go around bragging about watching very often, but I sure do enjoy it when I sit down to watch it.

3.0 out of 5 stars What happened to the second episode of Inna-Gadda-Sabrina ?!?, January 6, 2008
By
Irene Flores "isis1138" (San Jose, California United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - The Second Season (DVD)
As I sit here watching a rerun of Sabrina on tv, I can't help remembering there was a part two of "Inna-Gadda-Sabrina". As I recall Salem escapes and ends up hitching a ride with a group of Hippie kids to Philadelphia, creating a cliff hanger ending and a potential second episode. Does anyone else remember this? I hate it when shows do this, they advertise it as a "complete season" but they edit the shows like a regular tv rerun. Now the show ends with them commenting on how glad they are that Salem came back, stating that he had missed his "stories" for a week and are folding laundry, thus making me think I had a lapse of memory. I find this very frustrating.

Some new to dvd TV shows have caught on and not only offer the shows as originally aired, but also offer extras, such as bloopers as well as behind the scenes commentary, even tours of the individual sets. (i.e. Friends dvd's offer these things.) I know Sabrina has these things because I tape Bloopers on my Tivo and they always have some kind of Sabrina blooper in them. I mean if I am gonna spend a small fortune on purchasing this and the future collection of these dvds perhaps a little more effort should be shown towrd those hardcore fans who watched the show from it's beginings and who still watch it in reruns, to those newer fans who are getting a first look of it through the reruns, by offering us not only the originally aired shows but perhaps putting some extras in. I mean come on they even mention the addition of director commentary in "Cirque du Sabrina" perhaps they can live up to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, August 7, 2007
This review is from: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - The Second Season (DVD)

I own seasons one and two and I would preorder all the seasons if I could. I just wish that they could have kept in the original songs and maybe added some extra features like commentary from MJH or the other cast members.

I was so impressed with the price (even when postage was added. It saved me nearly $30 to get it sent to me in Australia, than it did to buy it here retail.
The estimated delivery time was such an over compensation, it arrive here within a fortnight or ordering- not next year :P

But it was brand new and fantastic. I love Sabrina, it's something I grew up with and I'm slowly collecting the seasons viz amazon.com. I recommend it for anyone, just something fun.
Fantastic product :)

I love this series. I really wish they had made the DVDs true to the show. They changed out the music on the DVDs which is sad. I still remember the original songs they used and the new ones just don't have the same feeling. I wish there were commentaries and subtitles, too. Overall, it's a great show, but the DVD quality is lacking. I still bought my favorite seasons, though. How else would I get to relive TGIF nights from high school?
