This review is from: Lady Sabrina's Secret (Signet Regency Romance) (Paperback)
From back of the book: Beautiful young widow Deborah Marchant came to Bath on a desperate mission. Her brother Richard stood accused of seduction and theft. Only Deborah could clear his name by unmasking his accuser, Lady Ann Appleby, and finding his love, the lady of mystery name Sabrina. But Deborah's search was blocked at every turn by the formidable figure of Rowen Sinclair, the domineering Duke of Gretton.

Deborah had but one way to unravel the shroud of secrets surrounding her missing brother. Somehow she had to gain the upper hand over this maddening, masterful man who used women as his playthings--while she tried to keep him from getting a hold on her heart...

Ms. Heath always has a wonderful way of describing the scenery, customs, and costumes, combined with this twist and turn of unraveling Lady Sabrina's secret, all made a very engrossing read indeed. Truly a five-star performance.

However, other than the physical attractions, I did not feel the chemistry between the hero and heroine. In fact, I felt Deborah was even considered fast and Duke a rake--she, who still wears her dear Jonathan's locket, had a physical desire after her first kiss on the hand; And he tried to propose marriage a day after he broke up the relationship with his mistress--All these without mention the admiration, appreciation, or any of the characters' attraction towards one another, how can they claim the love for each other? Also most of the energy of this book was devoted to the mystery solving, a considerable flaw for a romance novel, which I felt it deserves only 2-3 stars. But because the plot was so strong and writing so good, therefore I recommended a 4-star.
