3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing On a Number of Levels January 24, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Knowing something about Sacagawea from history books and a very recent trip to Lewis and Clark National Park (part of Cape Disappointment State Park - go figure) in Washington, I found the book disappointing and incomplete to a fault. It was much too short to cover her remarkable story. It read in part like a soap opera, and it just didn't seem as historically accurate as other books I've read about her. Yes, I understood that it's part of a series which would be complete, but that doesn't excuse the narrative.

My recommendation is "Sacagawea" by Joseph Bruchac, a book we read on the way back from the national park. If you are REALLY interested in the story of Sacagawea and her part in the Lewis and Clark Expedition, I highly recommend the documentary (DVD), "The Spirit of Sacajawea."

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book! January 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have always been fascinated by Sacagawea since growing up in St. Louis and learning so much about her adventures with Lewis and Clark. This is such a neat perspective on her life from her point of view! I love that it is interactive and my kids can learn more about some of the terms they have not heard before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource January 9, 2013

This is a great resource for our History studies this year. Not only is the subject very interesting & engaging but it is also very dynamic with all the links you come across as you read, offering several opportunities to dive deeper into nature study or biographies of others associated with the time period. I love how there are links that aid in accurate visualization of how things were then, such as the type of basket being discussed, which with out extensive previous exposure a child would visualize completely different.
Good job! Can not wait to collect the rest of the series!

Very frustrated that this was represented as a free book. It is not since you are given really only a few chapters. There, it leaves you hanging. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Not The Best Telling Of her Story
She is a woman I have had admiration for. Her story has been told in many times . this takes you to the beginning before she met up and Joined up with Lewis and Clark.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay
It is very short! Okay but not particularly interesting. Maybe could have combined the books to make it
more worthwhile.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Tease!
It ended just when the storyline was starting. Felt like it was just the first 2 or 3 chapters of a book. Just a gimmick to get you to buy more books.

A very short essay with limited historical content . Reads more like a soap opera rather than historical fiction. A let down.
