Masterpiece sndtrk by Morricone, August 9, 2010
This review is from: Sacco e Vanzetti: Italy: Italian Pressing: Soundtrack LP: (1971) (Vinyl)
This is one of the first films I watched which featured the amazing talents of Italian composer Ennio Morricone, who until then was more famous for his Sergio Leone spaghetti western soundtracks. The soundtrack to the film Sacco & Vanzetti is almost a character unto itself, so important is it to the whole of the work. The vibrant alto of American folk singer Joan Baez adds a poignant complement to Morricone's orchestral arrangements. The soundtrack is so powerful, one does not need the images to feel the sadness and injustices these 2 individuals endured at the hands of the US government, during the early part of the 20th century.
If you haven't seen the film, you will after you listen to this album. Guaranteed.
