I know it seams like I am easy but I tend to wan to write only for CD's that are really great.This is definitely a 4 to 5 star effort by gums who has been a reliable sideman over years but known mostly to other musicians.I can't understand why there are so many used copies of this.Can't remember horn man extra percussionist right now but you can look them up at www.amg.com.This is great and when you see the list of modern classics you really should pick it up.It is not hard charger but defintely not "smooth jazz".I though I might be taking chance as this was my first Gumbs CD as leader but was pleasantly surprised and it won't be my last.Peace
