The best day-glo gypsy/ska/dance band you'll ever hear.,

This review is from: Sackbutt (Audio CD)
I saw Horace X at the Vancouver Folk Festival in 2002, and was absolutely blown away. They have a sound that defies description--"global fusion" just doesn't do them justice. They incorporate sounds from all over, and they do it really, really well. If you can listen to Horace X and not at least tap your toes and think of bouncing around, you should seek medical attention. Sackbutt is their first album with vocalists Simon Twitchin and Terminator Bones, which may be why it's the only one with an American release so far--instrumental albums, no matter how rockin', probably just wouldn't sell very well here. Be sure to check out their other albums, available from their web site: Horace X, Fish Don't Bark, Burst Peacock (my favorite), and Live at the Junction. The first three are from before the two vocalists joined the band.

I enjoy Horace X and find that this album is a great mix of world and modern rhythms.
