Here's a mystery (in which I'm not alone): I love the English language; but after hearing Italian spoken, I thought it so beautiful that I wanted to hear more and to learn more about the language. After studying Italian (only a few thousand words...maybe 4-year-old level) using the Pimsleur CD's, I wanted to practice reading. So, I bought this Bible and started reading it alongside the New King James Version (my personal favorite for understanding and inspiration).

Thomas Jefferson reportedly studied the scriptures by reading them in several languages side by side. Now, I understand why: I'm not ready to pen the next Italian novel, but this combination of reading the Bible in two languages brings me the pleasure of stretching mind and spirit at the same time.

And the beauty of the scriptures becomes fresh in both English and Italian after hearing the music of the Italian version. I especially enjoy reading aloud the Psalms in both languages. I believe part of the reason for the clarity, brevity, and beauty of Hemingway is a direct result of the time he spent living in Italy.

Of course for me to review the Bible would be more ludicrous than my third grader reviewing Shakespeare. I only write this "review" to encourage those who wish to learn to speak Italian to use a very Good Book to help with the process.

Excellent translation and well worth the purchase. Base on the American Standard version and I'm enjoying every chapter!

I'm learning to speak Italian on my free time and i thought that since i read the Bible anyway, why not learn Italian and read my Bible at the same time? There's a couple of issues i have though, the Italian used in this Bible is sort of an old Italian language, with words being written slightly different than they are in my Italian language dictionary. Also, for example, the book of Eclesiastes has either additianal verses in the last chapter or the verse numbering has been changed and made longer. I've noticed this in other places in this Bible as compared to the KJV version. Also translations change from English to Italian. I also compared the Spanish (Reina-Valera) version of the Bible to this Italian Bible and they are more similar. Over all i'm having fun reading the Bible in Italian. The Word of God is beautiful in any language! God Bless! and happy reading.

I am studying Italian and this is excellent reading practice. The book is clean, clear and eaay to read. I am reading a chapter a day and getting my spiritual refreshmet and my language improvement at the same time! It is totally benissimmo!

I am very pleased with this Italian Bible. I am trying to learn Italian and I read my Bible daily so I thought it would be nice to read the Bible in Italian. I have really enjoyed La Sacra Bibbia. I am glad that I have purchased this product.

This is a clear translation into modern (though slightly literary Italian) of both the Hebrew scriptures and the New Testament. It seems much more readable than the earlier translations (19th-early 20th century) that I've looked at. If you'd like to read the bible in Italian to improve your reading skills or for other reasons, quell'edizione economica sara' una buona scelta, al mio parere.
