5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game December 7, 2011

This is a very good HOG game. You have to repeat several rooms, but the map is a real help on where to go next. My only complaint/suggestion is that I would have liked the map to be interactive so I could just click on a location and be taken there. Getting to a location can be tedious. The game is longer than most games these days, with two goals to accomplish -- get rid of the demons and replace all of the rune stones in the church. You collect tools along the way, which may be used in the current location or in another area. The hint button recharges quickly and it doesn't cost a hint if you just need to know where to go next. All of the minigames are either fairly easy or can be skipped if you wish. I would recommend this game.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Long, involved, fun HOG+ December 16, 2011

This is a HOG plus game. While there are traditional HO scenes, you obtain items that you need to proceed through the game, which I liked a lot.

Pro: creepy, beautiful scenes; interesting story line centered around the seven deadly sins; using the items you find is fun; the map shows where you are and where actions need to be undertaken (designated by an exclamation point on the map); extra game: find "other worldly" objects (there are 42 and difficult to find - took me twice)

Con: a lot of walking back and forth; the "chores" tend to pile up and you can lose track of what was where and why you needed an item; the ending was pretty abrupt (Angel?)

This is not a game for those who are offended by demons but for fans of HOGs where you use the items (Snark Busters 1 & 2 for example), it is great fun. It took me a long time to finish this as well, which is a plus.

5.0 out of 5 stars fun game that keeps you thinking February 13, 2012

I'm not a shoot'em up game person. I like casual games that offer good visuals, good mind exercise and an interesting premise. I tend to use the 30 minute sample & then go away disappointed but Sacra Terra: Angelic Night had me hooked from the start. It falls into that sweet spot, not too easy, not too hard. Not to violent, not too saccharine. Not to juvenile, not too dangerous. All in all I think this is a great game for young and old alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars So fun and worth every penny January 15, 2012

Many levels, endless hints load up quickly and are not used up to find out which direction you need to go. It's kind of a maze, a new door to pass through that leads to another, and another and yet another. Much fun. Hope there is another.

3.0 out of 5 stars No idea what happens June 18, 2012
    Verified Purchase
No spoilers, so no worries, but this game just seemed incomplete. Play it and you'll know what I mean. Furthermore, too much running around for such small objects for such a little pay off. I found myself running around trying to find random rooms that only served one small purpose but when receiving an object that allowed me to get back into that room I had forgotten about the room all together, so I found myself just hitting the hint button instead of backtracking in circles like an idiot. I LOVE these games but I found myself truly disappointed in this one. Some times the hidden object games are a complete joke: It says find the banana, so I look for a banana for like 5 minutes til Im bored then hit the hint button to find the banana is not only half visible, but doesnt look anything like a banana. I seriously thought it was a black thumbtack. Save your money and pass this up. But if you do buy it, let me know what you thought of the "ending".

The title of this review says most of it. The game played perfectly on Windows Vista and was longer than many (therefore more worth the money.)

However, the mini-puzzles were really easy. Not that I'm particularly bright but I think the mini-puzzles had kids in mind more than adults. There was much trekking back and forth but I didn't mind that as the graphics were good.

Locations stayed open even after their usefulness was done so it was fun to double check sometimes, knowing I'd missed something but not quite sure where to find it. If one doesn't want to guess as much, there is a map which shows active locations though it is not clickable, one must still hike over there. Sometimes there were things I'd missed that did not appear on the active locations map so it's not foolproof.

As is too often the case, this game like others got REALLY easy toward the end. I always feel disappointed when that happens. It's as though the programmers suddenly run out of time/space and just throw the remaining inventory objects at the player; ie TWO runes in one spot?

Overall, I agree that the game is better than many (provided the religious themes don't offend - did they have to use a holy image in the desecrated church for example?) but again, the mini-puzzles are very, very easy. The "beyond objects" one can collect are generally easy enough to find if the player remembers to look for one at each new scene - still a nice add-on challenge, though.

2.0 out of 5 stars ok but frustrating March 16, 2012

This is a good HOG game but the map is big and easy to get lost. It's frustrating because it's hard to remember where you need to go and what inventory goes where. Also, it runs slow unless you have an amped up computer. Not one of my favorite HOG games, I recommend House of 1,0000 doors. Fun, easy to nagivate and still challenging at same time.

Great game, many levels and long lasting. Most objects were easy to find and the mini games were fun. Best part was the story line was short and to the point.
