About the Author

Using photographs provided by the Sacramento Archives and Museum Collection Center, historian William Burg, author of Arcadia's Sacramento's Streetcars and Sacramento's Southside Park, shows how a Gold Rush trading post and a crumbling fort quickly became a metropolitan center and the capital of California.

More visual and less historical, this is still a great reference for anyone new to the area - gives appropriate context of the place, especially to recent transplants.

Sacramento? Please. It's like writing a book about Scranton, or Syracuse. A better venue might be a graphic novel? And it's written by William S. Burg. I'm waiting for the book on Williamsburg by Sack Demento
