This is a beautiful book, very well illustrated with photos. It is as much about shamanism from a Native American perspective as it is about drumming, providing information about the four directions, consecrating sacred space, and many other topics. The CD that comes with this book is very high quality and enjoyable as well.

Sacred Drumming is a quality book with beautiful illustrations as well as beautiful words. Not only does it give valuable information about how to drum, but Sacred Drumming provides additional information about the beliefs and ideas that contribute to drumming being the sacred experience that it is. While people often find these ideas shrouded in a cloak of mystery, Sacred Drumming presents this information in an interesting and easy to understand way. I always feel good after reading from this book. The CD that comes with it is a great gift as well.

I was hoping for an instructional book on the actual technique of drumming. This book is more an overview of the historical and cultural aspects. It does a good job of that, but if you're looking for drumming instruction, this is not it.

I am a student of shamanism. The training I have received thus far has not involved any drumming training. My intention with my new drum was just to use it as a tool for journeying. A friend who had this book loaned it to me, and what perfect timing! The book was fascinating and familiarized me with ways of bonding with my drum and many different ways of using it that I had not considered. This is a great book that turned a simple tool into a great friend. I recommend it highly.

I specifically ordered from this seller because I wanted the CD with the book--the book itself is wonderful. The CD was broken when the book arrived. Very disappointing.

This is the CD that accompanies the book by the same name. These are good Native American rhythms for playing along with or leading a drum circle (which is how I use it). Like many Native American drum rhythms they are not particularly complex or difficult but they are authentic and fairly interesting nonetheless.

This book is wonderful! It gives great information and knowledge for anyone on the path. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Sacred Drumming.
