I got this for my 13 year old daughter to have some more interesting songs to play on her baritone. She's in her second year with this instrument, after a year first on the trumpet, and the difficulty and complexity of the included songs was just right for her. She doesn't do lessons or anything - just plays in band at school since 5th grade.The only problem is that you HAVE to have someone else to play with you (on the baritone at least), which has proven impossible for us. For some reason, I thought this came with a CD to play along to, but it does not. This would be a REALLY helpful thing to have available for purchase along with this book, as it would allow students to practice at home on their instruments, with the CD providing the other half of the duet. For other instruments, this would not be as much of a problem. Overall, very good, and the right level for beginner and intermediate players. |
