This is one of my favorite Cds. Its magical and very healing. I do own another by this artist, but I like this one better. The nature sounds with rainsticks, flutes and drums is just fabulous. The songs have rich melodic beats.....a joy to listen to, and dance to as well, for that matter!! Drumming is being used these days in therapies as a tool of reconnection and wellness (see the book, "The Healing Power of the Drum" by Robert Lawrence Friedman). This Cd takes us to that connection! Its great.....highly recommended.

This is one of the most harmonic and balanced CDs ever produced. Spirit touches spirit as the journey of the Shaman is transmitted through the drum beats, flutes, Incan panpipes, rattle, guitar, synthesizers, combined with the sounds of Nature. The soul of the Shaman resonates with the listener on this sacred musical journey. The Ancient Wisdom of nature creates energetic spirals ... illuminating one's personal path.

I picked this CD up because of a magical dance/music production of Native American talent on PBS. I hoped for the same kind of enchantment and musical fulfillment in this CD. I found it! If you like nature, drums, and beautiful, upbeat music that "takes you away," I can't say enough about this CD. When I listen to this enchanting music, my mood is immediately elevated.It makes me want to dance with the spirits, fly with the birds. Joy, joy, joy!

This amazing album has earned its cult status.

It somehow manages to transcend all of those other creative (new age or otherwise) compositions in this free flowing style.

Many other artists have tried to imitate this album, but nobody seems to be able to get it just right. This album really does stand apart.

Oh, and some of the nature sounds (bird calls, especially) are driving my cats wild! :-)

Loved the CD. The drums are very relaxing and soothing and at the same time upbeat depending on your mood when you listen to it. Will be checking out other music by Steve and David Gordon.

If you are only going to get one Native American style drumming CD, make it this one. It is superb. Every track is a winner. It is peaceful, but also powerful. David and Steve Gordon are masters of their craft.

This premiere native-influenced title from David and Steve Gordon is a classic gem of the genre. A variety of native drum sounds from around the world are combined with Native American flute, Incan Panpipes, Guitars and Synthesizers along with an amazing array of nature sounds and animal calls. The Gordon brothers artfully blend this ecclectic mixture into an incredible sonic landscape that is certain to delight and inspire. Each listen to Sacred Earth Drums takes the listener on a deeper journey, exposing new and delicate dimesnsions of the lush and vibrant world of the Gordon's musical imagination. Superb !

I bought this on a whim...completely unheard because I enjoy drumming...This is a wonderful recording...I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys drumming. As a meditative tool this recording takes me someplace deep inside myself. I can only hope that David and Steve Gordon's other albums have the same effect as this one!

I found this CD to be compelling and evocative. Encourages one to walk in balance with the Earth Mother and brings to mind the sacredness of life and the Native American reverence for the Earth.

This CD will lift your spirits and make a cloudy day sunny! It brings out the "kid" in you and makes you want to dance and dance and dance to the drums.....
