A veteran's desire to replace the son he has lost
An army's will to win...
It was the turning point of the Civil War. For the Union, defeat meant a humiliating peace. A nation divided. A victorious Confederacy.
Based upon the true story of the 69th Pennsylvania and their role of helping to repel Picket's charge, On Sacred Ground tells the story of a young recruit named Andrew Miller banished from home for his beliefs and burdened with misgivings of his courage and fortitude under fire. A veteran, Davies, who immigrated from Ireland with his family only to lose them in America, finds new meaning and purpose in helping Miller reach manhood and in doing so finds the son he has lost. An army, much maligned and often ill led, marches North seeking its first victory.
Against the backdrop of Gettysburg,Miller, Davies, the Army of the Potomac and the cause they're willing to die for find themselves thrust into the pivotal moment when all of their beliefs, doubts and questions are put to the ultimate test-and the fate and the destiny of a young nation is determined.
