for those who are interested in the practice of magic, this is a helpful book especially for beginners though the system (steps) included here is not for novices. it's a simple guide to enochian magic and qabalah. the instructions in the book covers love, health, prosperity & personal well-being.. same with how to communicate with the angels. you won't regret buying this book!

Magic that works., October 11, 2001
This review is from: The Sacred Magic of the Angels (Paperback)
When I first heard about this book, I was certainly a bit doubtful. Any book to make such claims as communication with angels was suspect to me. After reading it, I decided to try some of the work to see if I'd get any results. What could it hurt?
Well, it was nothing short of amazing. It worked, and it worked well. These angelic forces are there for us and all we have to do is ask them to help. This book gives us ways to ask for that help that convinces our subconcious that we really want that help.
I really feel like I have personal relationships with these wonderful beings. The ceremonies and petitions have brought me closer to the angelic powers and helped me notice their work in my life like I never would have imagined.

Nothing special; it contains a few funny mistakes though., December 14, 2002
This review is from: The Sacred Magic of the Angels (Paperback)
As with David's other book (Tower of Alchemy), this book is self-congratulatory. The PREFACE starts thus: "I am one in a lineage of teachers..." It is so rare to see such a style of writing, and it usually indicates that the writer is filled with pride, and has a high estimation of themself.
He talks about how the angelic names have "power in their own right", which is a result of their being used for centuries. Most other writers would tend to agree with this. So then, it is quite amusing that he says that the "good angel" to use for operations of Mars is SAMAEL. This is a complete contradiction of what kabbalists have taught for centuries. They have taught that the (arch)angel connected with Mars is Khamael, and that the angel which is the head of the evil demonic forces is Samael.
So, Goddard is going to have his unwitting practitioners tapping into a source of power which is regarded as being the fountain of all evil (and has been for centuries). And the probable effect of this is that they will become mentally unstable, probably convinced that they are achieving "wonderful angelic results", when in actuality, they are achieving nothing (to get excited about). Pure delusion... fed by tapping into Samael (amongst other things).
Commanding spirits is not such an easy affair as so many new-agers love to think. Easy, simple, quick, and you can have it all tomorrow...
The famous Cagliostro who achieved great fame as an alchemist (and who made gold before the eyes many sceptics), a miraculous healer (sought by 1000s for his remedies), a seer who accurately foretold the future (and saw the verification/fulfilment of his predictions), several hundred years ago in Europe, regarded this art as much more difficult that making alchemical gold. This man who lived in pomp and absolute luxury, having a bottomless purse as a result of his gold-making said, "Making diamonds and gold is as nothing, for a man who can command spirits..."
Yet somehow, modern day individuals who are utterly incapable of any of Cagliostro's achievements, and who are as grasshoppers when compared to such an individual, would have us believe that they can indeed "command spirits"...
I think not. Show us a miracle, and then we will believe you. Go to your local hospital, and heal the cripples and the "incurable" cases. Or how about performing a manifestation/materialisation?
If you cannot do any of these (simple) things, then do not fool yourself that you are achieveing greater things.
