4.0 out of 5 stars This book is a wonderful way to begin each day.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Quick Reading
This is a collection of relevent ideas. It is without conversationalist depth, but leaves me to sort out my own thinking based on a quote.

I like it.

The word "virtue" often connotes an affiliation with the often repressive and judgmental "family values" of the Christian right. This book is far from that....it takes words of wisdom from all sacred belief systems and quietly and gently give them to the reader, day by day. I read each day's message as soon as I awaken, which enables me to start the day on a spiritual path. These are simple words and questions that lead you into a more gracious existence in the world. We all need to step out of the rushing, violence-filled culture we have found ourselves in and forge a new way of being with ourselves and each other. This book contributes in a large way to that end if one follows through the year minding its many wise lessons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sacred Moments: A Tool for Living,Loving and Learning!, September 30, 2000

This little Gem of a book has been in my personal library for several years and travels with me wherever I go.I begin my day by reading a passage and then meditating upon it. The Author,Linda Kavelin Popov has done the research, and presents us with the realization, that truth comes from many sources. No one religion, culture, philosopher, statesman or poet has an exclusive pipeline to spiritual and uplifting wisdom.

As a result of this collection,I have been motivated to find other writings from the many sources that she introduces us to. This practice has helped me to become more accepting of as well as understanding and appreciative towards all peoples.

The meditations that the Author has written herself are very moving and meaningful, especially for women.I have given this book to male friends as well as females. All of the reponses have been ones of deep gratitude. A great book to add to your giving list for Christmas, Birthdays, or Just Because I Love You Gifts.

I am using the daily readings from "Sacred Moments" in my morning meditations. Many aspects of my spiritual nature have been revealed to me.I feel through my reflection on these daily readings I have been given the insight and spiritual power to deal with challenging issues that face me each day. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get in touch with their own spirit.
