Paradox are constantly in the media's eye, by means of International airplay, Radio interviews, Newspaper coverage, Internet coverage and Independent television broadcasts, with their debut video for the single 'Infinite', to their latest single 'Lame and Languid', from the 'Sacred' EP. Paradox have been described by Critics, Magazines, Newspapers, and faithful fans from the shows as being one of the tightest bands in their class, and with every show they perform, increasing their ever growing fanbase.
Paradox are a combination of three unique individuals, with distinctive musical backgrounds, each member contributing their own personal style, taking you on a musical journey, filled with passion, truth and expression. Pete & Mike Mac are solely responsible for all the performances on both 'Circle of Growth' and 'Sacred'. Pete is responsible for all Guitar work, Bass and Vocals, on both albums, while Mike perfoms all Percussion, Drums, Backing Vocals, with the addition of Keyboards and Piano on the 'Sacred' EP. They also participate on all production aspects of both albums.
Paradox have now progressed, both musically and personally to a new level of expression, veering away from their previous punk rock/grunge sound of Circle of Growth, to a more melodic Alternative sound, that the band have been thriving to achieve since their creation. This sound is captured on their second release, entitled Sacred.
Paradox continue to work on a full time professional level, in a bid to ensure they reach their full potential, and are not a band to be taken lightly.

Instant Success...,

Instant success is the only term I can use to describe the destiny of the Irish band, Paradox. With tracks like "Lame and Languid" and "Infinite" these guys are sure to grace the scene with a pumped up version of the modern Alternative/Rock sound. As I listened I found new reasons to listen again. Obviously Paradox is dedicated to their craft. The mix is great and the power is incredible with a perfect combination of acoustic and electric to please nearly every taste. As Rock goes I always try to compare one sound to another, but Paradox is not a band to be compared to anyone. Pete's vocals are impeccable, beautifully accented by the rest of the band. Lots of great guitar accents and solid beats put Paradox on the top of my "next best list" and make for one killer rock band. Driven by melody and pure adrenaline, these guys are a commanding force in the new music arena. I really enjoyed reviewing this band and, all in all, I can't find a reason to give Paradox less than 5 stars. I fully recommend listening to their style and adding them to your CD collection. I was one of the lucky ones who got a pre release of this album. sacred is one of those albums that you must listen to 3-4 times but once you do you know you've got a peach! in an age of complete garbage on the radio, the mcCarthy brothers provide a welcome break from the present day musical production line!Sacred opens with 'angel of fate' which is very catchy without just being radio friendly. paradox fans will be only too familiar with track 3 'lame and languid' which is a true anthem of the cork based trio. track 7 'pretend friend' breaks the album up great when drummer mike mac leaves the drums at home as both brothers go for a very touching ballad. i did particulary like track 11 'downward spiral'. i suppose with a title like this the song has just gotta be good my friends and it is. after the slow' pretend friend' drummer mike mac once again belts the drums like there is no tommorow.....like drumming is going out of fashion. this is a good heavy tune. these are just some of the tunes i like but in between these tunes are more peaches as when paradox release an album you have got to take it seriously. the BRMC sing 'whatever happened to our rock n roll' .....well paradox have answered a few prayers. maybe someday fans will see both the black rebel motorcycle club and paradox on the same stage, now wouldn't that be a real treat? stranger things have happened!
