It is a very beautifully illustrated children's book describing the love, peace and contentment that can be experienced in an ancient old-growth forest. With faeries, nymphs, a Forest Goddess, an Ancient Magician, and other colorful characters, we learn through the eyes of a young girl, why these last remaining forests should be saved, and about the senseless destruction already wrought upon them.

From the Author
The idea first came to me to write this book after having had a spiritual experience, much like the fictitious main character of the book. During a time ion which I was in a contemplative mood, while visiting a redwood forest, I decided to sit at the base of a tree.
While sitting there, opening my mind to the feel of the forest, I suddenly began to feel that I was one with the whole forest. I also felt a strong feeling of love coming from the trees. This experience then subsided, leaving me with a sense of awe.
Nothing can describe the peace, love and wonderment I feel when I am in a grove of old-growth trees of the Pacific Northwest. The smell of the nutrient-rich soil, the beautiful moss and fungi, the stillness, dignity and grandeur of the trees-all bring about a sense of beauty and joy.
Unfortunately, I learned that 96%-98% of redwood trees have already been cut down, and that only half of what remains today are protected in parks. The rest are being logged. Also, many precious old-growth douglas-fir forests in the Pacific-Northwest are being clear-cut. These extremely rich and diverse bio-systems took 12,000, and some, 100,000 years to grow, and would be lost forever if clear-cut.
I then decided to write a children's book...
