About the Author

Leah Sanders is the middle child in a family of seven children. As a true middle child she went from high school in Alaska to college in Florida, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in sec-ondary education from Southeastern University. She also holds a Master's degree in educational technology from Boise State University. She makes her home in Idaho with her husband and three children. She has no pets but will sometimes allow her children to keep rocks and name them, so they don't feel like they are miss-ing out on anything, as long as they keep them outside. She finds joy in making the world a bet-ter place by helping middle school students locate their English assignments on a daily basis, and even sweet romance novels make her blush.

When Kynan's parents tell him of their impending divorce he is angry and hurt and wants to lash out. His first reaction is to make mischief at a shrine on an annual school trip the very next day. But before he and his best friend Michael get the chance, a priest approaches him and utters a strange message in Gaelic that Kynan cannot understand. Fortunately, their classmate, Briana, overhears the message and translates: "he who holds the sacred ring from hate to love the will bring." Is it possible that this ring might save his parent's marriage?

An investigation that starts at the school library eventually leads the trio to the northern coast of Ireland to the archives of a church to a map and finally to an uncharted cave.

The story is full of adventure and mystery and danger. Kynan and Michael and Briana are well rounded and bursting with character. I was engaged from the moment I read the first page. Although the book is categorized as teen fiction, it is certainly likely to engage upper middle grade readers as well.

When Kynan discovers his parents are getting a divorce he looks for a way to get them back together. Could the sacred ring of St Valentine be the answer? Pulling in his best friend Michael and his crush Brianna, Kynan goes on a hunt for the ring but what price will he pay? LOVE this book by Leah Sanders. Great read for any age :)

The Sacred Ring is a clean fun adventure that three friends embark on. To help Kynan bring his parents back together again. Can they do with out killing themselves? You will have to read it to find out. I loved how Kynan is selfless and he really cares for others. Brianna is endearing and Michael is a pain but a good pain. To complete this journey all three are needed. Without on or the other I don't think they could have accomplished it. Borther Leroy was kinda creepy and weird I was not sure what to make of him in the first part of the book. I was glad things unfolded as the story progressed. My the only thing I wish Ms. Sanders would continue with another story maybe about Brianna and what she does next! I really think my older daugher would enjoy this read. I was left with a smile on my face as I finished The Sacred Ring. Ms. Sander great job on this young adult read. This was a adventurous read for an afternoon!

Again .... a dive into a the YA genre and I LOVED IT.

So this was a "MUST READ" book for me. It's all set in Ireland (big plus) and about St Valentine's Sacred Ring. Not overly religious, if at all, yet I do like "my" saints!

Kynan Murphy's parents have just separated and as fate has it, soon after he learns about St Valentine's Sacred Ring which is believed to have healing "love" powers. So with the help of his friend Michael and Brianna, a girl in his class, he starts his quest to search for the ring in some caves north of Dublin.

It's literally a page turner from the very first page. It's full of adventure, history and a bit of mystery .... and friendship. The three friends are real and though for me the seemed more American than Irish, typical teens. The story was very well researched which makes it an even more interesting read. The only person I would have like to know more about though was Father Leroy. Considering the importance of his character and his role in finding the ring, I was disappointed that Leah Sanders didn't go into more details for his background.

Great read for young and old! Let's hope my daughter will enjoy it as much as I did.

The Sacred Ring starts out with an opening prologue that immediately grips you and leaves your mind swirling. As the book progresses you are introduced to three great characters who have adversities to overcome which are very relatable for young adults today. Add in a lot of adventure, a generous dose of mystery and some cute age appropriate romantic interest and you have a great read for all ages. Ms. Sanders did a fantastic job spinning a tale that is full of life.
