The Sacred Romance Workbook and Journal: Your Personal Guide for Drawing Closer to the Heart of God

I have been leading discussion groups on the Sacred Romance for two years. When I saw that John had published a study guide I was so excited. John was a professor of mine and his books have changed my life. If you want to know God more intimately, if you want to pursue the adventure He has planned for you, if you want to acquire the eyes to see His beauty, please buy the Sacred Romance and study guide...it just may change your life.

I never take the time to write reviews so take this as a "sixth star" for The sacred Romance along with it's study guide companion. I first read the book a year ago and had a "so-so" reaction to it. It was good, and it helped me take a unique look at God's most dramatic act of love on our behalf. Still, I pretty much forgot about it not long after I read it. I can't tell you how different my reaction to this book was about a year later when my small group decided to use T.S.R. for our lesson. Wow! We now have a level of trust with each other and with that trust have been able to share old wounds of the heart that were prohibiting us from the most important relationship of our lives (a relationship with God of course) and we were also able to build each other up. If you are in a small group I URGE you to consider The Sacred Romance. If everyone in your group is honest and takes the chance to be a little vulnerable with each other it will change the dynamics of how you study together dramatically.

I used this workbook in a small-group study of The Sacred Romance, and I can't recommend the workbook highly enough. Eldredge expands on the information in the book and asks questions that bring the material alive. Where the book tells some great stories, the workbook has helped me better understand and apply those concepts to my life. It's been life-changing, and well worth the time!

This is one of the most spiritual liberating books that I've read so far. It helped me to recognise a lot of hidden truths in my life and the embark on the journey of liberation and enter into the bigger part that God created me to play in the drama of life.

I can't recommend this book highly enough. I read the original book, and loved it, but knew there was more that i was missing. The workbook asks detailed and sometimes confronting questions, and acts as an aide to hearing God. I found once i started asking God these questions, i had the insight i needed to break through so many of the walls i'd put to God, myself, and others. As a result, my relationships are healthier, and i am a less defensive person.

So much better than the book. I was confused after many of the chapters in the book, and the journal helped clear it up. Very glad I bought it- such a fan of John Eldredge, he had completely changed the way I view God.

This is a great book. John Eldredge helped me to put words to questions that have been in my heart for years. If you have been seeking a way to understand the heart of God, this book is for you!

The workbook is what makes the book really come alive! Get ready to rock your world from the inside out. Take your time and go slowly through the questions. The more introspection the more valuable the outcome. It is a must for anyone who really wants a meaningful relationship with Christ; one that makes a difference in your joy through the journey on this earth.

Just received this journal but it looks very good. It has a lot of detail and prompting for responses.
