This review is from: Sacred Sexuality (Paperback)
The problem with this book is that it's not really accurate in details. It presents a kind of touristy overview of its subject matter, with much marshmallowy cod-Jungianism and New Age. There's not enough meat, although there are numerous very nice pictures.

If you can stand a book that thinks Taoists are never celibate, that the Rod of Asclepius is the same as the Caduceus of Hermes, that Aphrodite, Rhea and Selene are all aspects of 'the Great Goddess', and that the seven seals of 'Revelations' are the same thing as the seven chakras... sure, buy it. :) But be careful where you quote your 'knowledge', in case someone with a clue (let alone actual experience) should be standing nearby. Whatever you find in here, find it elsewhere too before you think it's true.

It's a shame, because this subject is an important one that could do with real cross-cultural scholarly insight.
