From Library Journal
Scott, author of Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs (Llewellyn, 1985) and The Truth About Witchcraft Today (Llewellyn, 1988), offers this timely book on dreaming. While much has been written on the psychological and symbolic meanings of dreams, little attention has been given to the spiritual aspects. Dreaming is a way of connecting with the divine (however one defines divine ). The book covers the history of sacred dreaming: Egyptian, Sumerian, Hawaiian, and North American. The second section gives practical advice for devising rituals and preparing for sacred sleep. The third section is a guide for recording and understanding dreams. There are appendixes that give additional symbolic correspondences for deeper understanding. Recommended for religion and specialized psychology collections.
