5.0 out of 5 stars The Best for your Buck
The Sacred Tarot is a wealth of information for students of tarot and of esoteric knowledge. This book, one of 21 courses available for students of the ancient mysteries, contains a bit of everything for readers. One can study numerology, astrology, masonic lore, secrets of initiation, as well as the wealth of information on the tarot, and can gain deep insights into...

3.0 out of 5 stars A different tradition...
I bought this book, and the associated tarot cards, because I have owned the book "How to Read Tarot Cards" by Doris Chase Doane and King Keys for decades. My old book shows the Brotherhood of Light Egyptian Tarot cards; they have always fascinated me.
But I also own other tarot decks and books, primarily from the Arthur Waite tradition and similar schools of...

This review is from: The Sacred Tarot: The Ancient Art of Card Reading and the Underlying Spiritual Science (Brotherhood of Light ; Course 6) (Hardcover)
The Sacred Tarot is a wealth of information for students of tarot and of esoteric knowledge. This book, one of 21 courses available for students of the ancient mysteries, contains a bit of everything for readers. One can study numerology, astrology, masonic lore, secrets of initiation, as well as the wealth of information on the tarot, and can gain deep insights into spiritual progress through this book. Those who do not appreciate this wealth of information are those who are skipping along the path of wisdom, rather than stopping to investigate the beauty and depth of this rose of higher knowledge. I challenge anyone to read and apply what they learn with this book and the accompanying deck, The Brotherhool of Light Egyptian Tarot. Study and use these tools for one year. Your enlightenment is your guarantee.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Encyclopedic Knowledge of Tarot, April 21, 2003

This review is from: The Sacred Tarot: The Ancient Art of Card Reading and the Underlying Spiritual Science (Brotherhood of Light ; Course 6) (Hardcover)
The Sacred Tarot is one of the most well-worn books in my library. Thirty years after my first reading of this tome I continue to discover new insights that I may have previously oerlooked. This sixth volume in the Brotherhood of Light series is a literal `Encyclopedia' of tarot knowledge, touching upon the relationship of the major arcanum with Egyptian Initiation, Astrology, Cabbalism, Masonry, Bible study and Magic. This is always at the top of my list for recommended reading in tarot courses I have taught.

This review is from: The Sacred Tarot: The Ancient Art of Card Reading and the Underlying Spiritual Science (Brotherhood of Light ; Course 6) (Hardcover)
I bought this book, and the associated tarot cards, because I have owned the book "How to Read Tarot Cards" by Doris Chase Doane and King Keys for decades. My old book shows the Brotherhood of Light Egyptian Tarot cards; they have always fascinated me.
But I also own other tarot decks and books, primarily from the Arthur Waite tradition and similar schools of thought.

While there are overlaps in meaning, these two traditions are quite different. I can't reconcile them in my mind at all.

Others: Swords = Air, Pentacles = Earth
These: Swords = Earth, Coins (Pentacles) = Air

Others: The Fool starts the cycle as 0 and Aleph
These: The Fool is 22, and the Magus starts the cycle as 1 and Aleph

So pick the one that corresponds to your understanding. But mix them carefully, if at all. I have to stick with the Waite tradition myself.
