Book Description

Sacred Vow is a metaphysical novel about a man who responds to the mysterious call of a woman, opening the way to redefinition of both himself and his understanding of the world around him. He takes his first steps on a journey to accept the world around him as a place to live, not simply a place to survive day-to-day. Sacred Vow is both a narrative and the means for the author to communicate a positive message about life and fully integrating the most into each moment. Highly recommended-Midwest Book Review

Can the wind of a butterfly’s wing effect climate on the other side of the world? Can the love of two souls heal a great wrong in the universe? C.G. Walters’ novel “Sacred Vow,” offers compelling thought to consider, and a page turning delight to cherish.

Ian Sarin enjoys his cup of tea but lately the ritual of it brings other delights. Visions of a woman play out in his perception, beckoning further visitation. Everything in the room must be just so, with teapot, caned chair, and Ian in place. He cannot hear her speak, but can see her mouthing words, sharing her life. Is this just a vision or is it something else? His reality soon becomes less important than the alternate one that he visits. Ian’s health becomes affected and soon he needs help. While visiting an old friend in the mountains, he is introduced to Djalma, an interesting man whose presence comes into play in a large way. He will interact in Ian’s life in ways he couldn’t have imagined. The visions of Katerina become more intense and play out like episodes of a movie he has seen before. The question so important… why are the visits happening? The answer awaits on a scrap of paper that Ian had tucked away, a remnant of a dream, years before. He was chosen for this…but what exactly is this?

Reincarnation, collective consciousness, and life purpose all play large roles in this book. It is a deeply thoughtful and provocative tale that I could not put down. I so enjoyed the read that I simultaneously couldn’t wait to get to the last page but also dreaded it ending. The author evokes a great understanding of these topics and the mysteries of the universe, yet shares his perceptions in a wonderfully easy to comprehend tone. Readers will come away wonder-filled and satisfied to have read “Sacred Vow.”

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

The most significant event of your life calls to you from barely beyond your perception . . . both imminent and impossible.

A countless number of alternate/parallel realities exist in the very space before our eyes. Many of these alternate realities are unaware of each other, but inhabitants in some are not only aware, but interact with alternate realities for the good of the whole. It is possible for the proper combination of energetic interactions to open up our perceptions of these alternate lives/worlds.

Ian Sarin finds that he has opened such a portal. He realizes that he has not accidentally achieved this expanded reality perception. Not only is he aware of and interacting with a parallel world, but the woman he visits with, Katerina, is a member of a culture structured around a monastic order of mystical women, the Sisterhood. Members of this order are highly attuned to the needs of universe they live in and have historically assisted in healing a periodic rift in the Collective Consciousness . . . A breach that threatens us all . . . Since antiquity, when called by the Collective, the Sisterhood has performed a ritual to bring together two individuals from disparate realities but of one spirit, a member of their order and a second person who has received a chosen message from the Collective. Unaware of any such communication, Ian is that second individual at this time in history.

Sacred Vow is a journey toward our one true love . . . in its infinite expressions

From the Author

This novel was intended to be a five thousand-word exercise, preparing me to return to several pre-existing manuscripts after a delay. Sacred Vow had more to tell and believed its story was important. Several times the story grew beyond my intended limit. I objected, eager to return to my recently neglected writings. Eventually I was lured into following.

Weeks later, hiking with a friend, I told him of some of the views unfolding in this new book. After listening attentively, he said, "Do you really believe this is the way it works?" We continued deeper into the woods, and I gave his question thought. I was a little surprised at the answer I finally realized. I said, "Until I saw this information in the story, I can't say that I had any such ideas. But now, yes, I think this is a truth." So I followed Sacred Vow, became familiar with the people and their stories, learned from their teachings, and traveled where they led. Just when I was willing to abandon all my earlier tales for this new adventure, Sacred Vow gently brought me back to where it had commandeered me . . . at the opening of the book I had been working on before its arrival.

5.0 out of 5 stars a deeply provocative and healing book November 18, 2007
Format:Paperback
"Sacred Vow" achieves what the author sets out to do in his fiction: momentarily bring the reader's conscious "defenses" down to gently expand the reader's concepts of self, reality, the world, the universe, Love.

It also achieves what few metaphysical books immediately achieve: explain to the reader (even someone new to metaphysical concepts) in an engaging, entertaining yet thought-provoking way certain metaphysical concepts like parallel lives and realities, without making the reader feel like being lectured, and in a way that makes the concepts easy to grasp at first read.

This is also the best romance book I've ever read so far: Love without the sex (!) but with a more intimate and intense lovemaking still, passion developed and grown to fulfillment in ways not many people have considered, with the real work and struggle of true loving as the real romance of it all.

I cried as I read the book, and wept quietly when I finished it, but the tears were healing and transformative.

5.0 out of 5 stars Many levels for understanding June 26, 2006
Format:Paperback
C. G. Walters' book, "Sacred Vows", is an excellent book with many levels for understanding life. It has as many thought provoking lessons as Richard Bach's "Jonathan Living Seagull". It has the romantic level of the works of Nicholas Sparks, the fantasy levels of Orson Scott Card, the lessons of self-growth to enlightenment of Alan Arkin's, "Halfway Through The Door", and the metaphysical possibilities of Jane Roberts' "Education of Oversoul 7".

5.0 out of 5 stars Review on Sacred Vow October 26, 2007
Format:Paperback
"Sacred Vow" is an excellent work of romantic fiction about two individuals who by responding to a calling, realize they are soulmates living in parallel lifetimes. It is a novel of a love so strong as to be able to reach across to each other through different lifetimes and try to find a way to be together. Even though I've read a few books with a metaphysical theme, Sacred Vow has touched me deeply with its endearing romance, its positive message on the Collective Consciousness, the possibility of parallel realities and about soulmates finding each other through the sheer strength of their spiritual love for each other. This book has been a wonderful experience for me and I would highly recommend it to all readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars New experience November 12, 2006
Format:Paperback
'Sacred Vow' is the first novel I've read with a metaphysical theme. I'd never thought very deeply about possible parallel universes or the ability to view other lives through dreams, channeling, etc. so this book was unique for this reader. Can soul mates perhaps find each other though they live worlds apart? Is love strong enough to help them re-connect?

When Ian realizes that a kindred spirit and his true love is reaching out to him from another world, he goes to great lengths to reach back. Even though he risks his own health at one point and perhaps his life, Ian searches to find a way to be with his beloved Katerina. This book was a wonderful new experience and a completely different type of novel for me. It was also a pleasure meeting C.G. Walters in person at a local book signing.

Truth is but a resting place until the next revelation--Strike a Chord of Silence

Personal lore is a dubious drink, for the flavor changes each time you bring it to your lips. Given enough aging-from my own experience-the product is more fiction than fact-but what fact is not ripe for becoming fiction?-I find that if I scrutinize any moment's ramble of my past, the story often breaks down into a mix of dreams, past conversation, and maybe something I read or heard. A person might say that something such as daydream is not real, and certainly not biographical. But I would have to disagree. How can one come to an understanding of the tangible without embracing the chimerical?-embracing personal myth.
