I have never written a review before. Nothing mattered quite that much for me to spend the time explaining what I considered my fairly trivial thoughts about a fairly trivial item or event. That is before I heard Angela Kaset's music. My thoughts may still be trivial, but her music is not. In fact, as someone who has purchased hundreds of albums/CDs since the 70s if someone told me I could only keep 5, 'Sanctuary' and 'Live at the Bluebird' would be in the group ... in fact, if I could only keep two, they would likely still be in the group! There is nothing I can say beyond that which will do her work justice. I'd suggest listening to The Poet, Saying Goodbye to a Friend and Cinderella first. Then listen to the entire CD from beginning to end. This type of complete package that joins form and substance at their highest level does not come along very often. It is hard to imagine that the thoughtful listener won't walk away and think this is one of the few CDs for which they would have gladly paid twice the price. Now, where is the thoughtful record executive who can help her get her music out to the many who will wonder where she has been all these years?

These are some of the most compelling, deep and often dark songs I've heard. I listened to the song, "The Poet" a good thiry times in a row. It reminds me why I write songs and inspires me to write more. A fabulous album

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this album. I'd heard "Something In Red," "Daddy's Little Girl," "The Hopechest Song" and a few others that she'd written, but I'd never heard her sing. I was shocked and amazed. She's awesome. The sheer spiritual longing of "Sanctuary" and the haunting tale of "Cinderella" are plenty of reason to snag this one.
