I have never bought or used a gaiwain before, but this one seems pretty good to me. I like the design and it looks nice and sharp. The pieces have a few imperfections in their shape so they don't fit together perfectly, but this doesn't impede their function.

The description says 140 mL, but this is definitely wrong. It only holds about 110 mL when filled up to the brim. You won't be filling it that high when you actually use it though; I have found a typical cup to be about 70 mL. This size is fine for me but I thought others might want to know.

I was looking for a traditional Chinese style tea cup. I was looking for a plain, no-frills cup for tea and that is precisely what I received. No surprises, no hassles, no problems. Just what I wanted and how I wanted it.

The cups are well made, thin and small as they should be. If you are looking for a Gaiwan Teacup without the fancy ornamentation so often found on Gaiwan, this is your cup. Enjoy!

This is a lovely piece, but it is very small. I'm not familiar enough with the metric system to have an idea of how much 160ml actually is, so I was a bit surprised to find that it was less than 6 ounces. In reality, the gaiwan doesn't hold even that much. If you filled it to the top of the rim it may contain 5.4 ounces, but if you fill it just enough so that you can fit the lid on we're talking about 4 ounces. So, just be aware that it makes a VERY small cup of tea.

As I said before, though, it is beautiful, and it seems to be well-made. I've never owned or used a gaiwan, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The lid seemed to fit somewhat poorly, leaving a small gap on one side. Then I realized that the gap allows you to pour the steeped tea without losing any tea leaves. My only complaint is that it dribbles insanely, so you can't just pick up the cup to pour and expect not to dribble half your tea onto the counter. Fortunately, it's small enough that you can pick up the saucer and hold the lid on with your thumb on the same hand, which causes the tea to dribble into the saucer first, so it's much easier to get the tea into your cup. The saucer has a deep indentation for the cup, so you don't have to worry about it sliding off. Who knows, maybe that's the way it was meant to be used.

As a decorative item, I'm very pleased with it, but I drink a LOT of green tea, so it's just too small to be very functional for me.

I like the color and pattern very much. But, there are several blemish and bumps of the workmanship. The cover is not totally fit well with cup, the small bottom saucer does not fit well enough with the cup, thus it causes some unsteadiness of the cup. I don't think this grade of work worth the price I had paid.

I'm quite satisfied with this product. I'm no expert on gaiwans, but for the price, it was exactly what I expected. The color is beautiful, a tad deeper than the pictures. The size listed, 150mL, is technically accurate, but that's measured with liquid all the way up to the rim, which is something that won't ever happen in typical usage.
I'm still getting the hang of the pouring technique, but I've had some very nice tea using this gaiwan.

Color: glass teapot(250ml) and one double-walled teacups(50ml)
The tea pot is a little larger than I expected. It is also much nicer looking. The infuser fits exactly inside the pot and the cup fits exactly inside the infuser. The photos and the description are a little confusing. I got one double walled tea cup, which is what the description says, but one photo shows two. It does not come with a carry case like some of the other sets do. This will do nicely at my desk.

The pictures do not do the cup credit. The colour is a cool jade with hints of cyan. The ceramic work is very fine. The pieces are delicate in their curve, well made and sturdy. They fit comfortably in the hand. The saucers are well proportioned. The lids rest properly on the inside turn of the cup.

I had initially purchased one to assess the quality. I was very pleasantly surprised. After seeing one I purchased a full set and this is now the cup I use at my table daily for tea.

The postal service had damaged one in transit. The wonderful way in which the seller handled what clearly someone else had done shows the sort of integrity that can only come from within, not merely business but a good person.

These are a joy in my home.

The gaiwan was beautiful, although not as lovely or as high quality as in the picture. This takes away two stars. Show what you sell!
Good for multiple people. Sturdy and retains heat well. Lovely sounds while brewing tea, and the pattern is elegant.
