This automatic espresso machine is capable of making a wide range of espresso drinks and will automatically add perfectly frothed milk to your cup. The Xelsis can be programmed to recall and make six different beverages with the touch of a button and lets you choose your preferred strength and consistency.
Produces Rich Crema and Aroma
Insisting on bean-to-cup quality, the Xelsis brings Italian-style espresso home. With the touch of a button, it will produce true Italian espresso, with its signature dark color, rich layer of crema, fragrant taste, and intense aroma.
An adjustable, built-in ceramic grinder, a protective coffee bean hopper, and a removable 54-ounce water tank with an Intenza water filter ensure consistent quality and clean taste. Saeco's optional Aroma System pre-brewing cycle injects hot water into ground coffee to maximize flavor extraction.
Make Customized Coffee with Saeco Brewing System
An intuitive touch user interface allows you to easily program your espresso and milk preferences into the machine so you can prepare your drink with the press of a button. The Xelsis features Saeco Brewing System technology, which allows you customize the strength and consistency of your coffee using a simple dial.
In addition, an integrated, automatic milk carafe pours perfectly frothed milk directly into your cup. You can also froth milk manually using the hot water wand, which provides filtered hot water for other beverages.
Program up to Six Beverage Profiles for Fast Brewing
The multifunctional Xelsis can recall personalized coffee drinks for six users. This way, everyone in the family can make their preferred drink with the push of a button.
Efficient Design for Easy Cleaning
The machine's clever design includes a bean hopper--accessible from the top of the machine--with a tight seal to keep beans fresh and a wheel base to making rotating it easy. The grounds tray and brew group can be removed from the front of the machine for cleaning. In addition, an automatic cleaning cycle keeps the milk carafe fresh between uses.

Warranty Information
All Philips Saeco machines are tested with coffee. Although they have been carefully cleaned there might be some coffee residue in the machine. We guarantee however that the machine is absolutely new and recommend that you read the instructions before use.

I decided to try the Xelsis and I am glad that I did. So far I have had the machine for about two weeks and it is a winner. The milk comes out hot and the foam is perfect (looks like micro-foam done by a wand). It is easy to maintain and has worked flawless. The only negative is that the drip tray is kind of small but is it very quick and easy to empty. If you are looking for a quick and easy cappucino this machine is for you.

So we exchanged it.
The new unit has the same door issue (tho less promient).
The unit never reports to add coffee beans when it's empty. Fine - we can pop the lid open and look, but that's hardly working as advertised.
We also have a problem where the milk frother will occasionally just sputter and not dispense steamed milk. Cleaning the frother only seems to have limited success.
And when I call to ask questions from Philips (formerly Saeco USA)? If the tech in question doesn't know the answer, you get the generic response of; "Take it back for service unless you bought it recently and then just have the retailer exchange it".
Really Philips?
Overall the machine does a really good job. But for me to give it a 5-star rating it'd have to do an *outstanding* job for the money I paid. And it simply is not outstanding vs. the money spent.
Since the day I got the Saeco machine I have been using it non stop... love the fact that you don't need to spend hours reading the instructions... you can just follow the display screen and it literally walks you through the steps. Another plus is the ability to generate individual user profile for each drink... so now I can make my husband the perfect caffeelate exactly the way he likes it! A espresso machine that knows you by reading your digital print... doesn't get better than that in my book!
The display walks you every time you when you need more coffee beans, water or when you even need to clean the tray...Thank You!!! Love the fact that is not super big and it easily fits on my kitchen counter.
