Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Exclusively designed for the Saeco Talea super-automatic espresso machine, this unique appliance creates rich, creamy froth in seconds for macchiatos, cappuccinos, lattes, or other specialty drinks. The unit sits conveniently next to the machine rather than being a built-in piece, making it easy to operate and maintain. To use, simply connect the black hose to the steam output on the bottom left side of the Saeco Talea; place the glass carafe filled with up to 13-1/2 ounces of fresh, cold milk on the base; and turn the machine's steam knob to the Milk Island icon. Steam gets sent to the milk frother, steaming milk to 160 degrees F and creating frothed milk in seconds. The milk frother features a glass carafe with a black plastic handle, base, and pouring spout. The milk frother measures 3-3/4 by 3-3/4 by 5-3/4 inches and cleans easily under the tap or in the dishwasher.

Product Description

The Milk Island container is a unique Saeco development for all Saeco Talea models only. In fact, it is the key function for all milk frothing connoisseurs. Whether you prefer espresso macchiato, cappuccino, latte macchiato or any other specialty, the preparation of creamy foam takes just a matter of seconds. The milk island simply plugs into the Saeco Talea Giro ( will only work with Saeco Talea models) and with the touch of an icon, the steaming process begins. The Talea machine is actually sending steam from the machine to the milk island and will reach a temperature of 160° F. The Milk Island is available in a plastic & glass container with a total capacity of 0.4 liters.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money..., April 6, 2009

This review is from: Saeco MI-GL-04 Milk Island, 0.4 Liter (Kitchen)
First of, I used to be a big Saeco fan - I have used them for many years. But this milk island is just junk. As the other reviewers here report, it has a tendency to leak water in copious amounts after a few weeks of use. We actually sent ours in to Saeco (a sheer nightmare) and since we got it back, it does not leak anymore so this can be fixed. Good news, right? Well, if it only would froth the milk it would be great but it doesn't. Occasionally, like every 20th time or so, you get nice frothy milk. The other 19 times you get hot, runny milk with barely a film of froth. This is ridiculous. I have tried every type of milk there is and that doesn't make much of a difference. I will now have to buy one of the cheap little frothers to sit next to my $2,000 Saeco because that machine can't froth, milk island or wand!

2.0 out of 5 stars Leaks like crazy, November 19, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Saeco MI-GL-04 Milk Island, 0.4 Liter (Kitchen)
The little arm that attaches to the espresso machine leaks water like crazy. If I leave the machine on unattended, when I come back, there will be a puddle of water around this thing. It works very well, but the leaking is very annoying. Still, it makes great froth (though not as good as by hand).

2.0 out of 5 stars Worked for a while, December 9, 2008

At first this was a great little attachment for my Saeco machine. It made great froth and was easy to use and clean. But then a couple of months later it started malfunctioning and the indicator light was off all the time. Plus it started leaking, leaving water all over the counter top. Looking at it, I noticed an extremely flimsy and complicated mounting system that is bound to fail. They need to go back to the drawing board on this and make it more reliable.
