Perfetto! Just plain great. February 13, 2004
This is a really good machine for those who want some seriously good espresso but can't quite bring themselves to spend 800 dollars+ for a fully automatic machine. It heats up quickly and produces FANTASTIC espresso with thick crema. Only a few minor problems:

Frothing milk is difficult- but if you only drink espresso its well worth it.
Plastic Case- I love metal.
Pump- works great, but its a *tad* noisy (only a tad)
Instructions- worthless. Like italian translated to japanese translated to farsi translated to english. But easy to use.

Dont pass this great great machine by! Im so happy and caffeinated now its like a different person.

Magic will do fine if you put up with Saeco's quirks and maintain it correctly. The machine WILL leak water from the steam nozzle. Some have a flimsy plastic water tank. You must clean the brewhead monthly, and don't leave the machine on for long periods . Flush out the steam wand and disassemble and clean after every use. De- Calcify regularly if you have hard water. Follow these tips and it will serve you well for years(mine are 6 and 2 years old). I've tried several times to upgrade to more expensive machines and have always gone back to the Saeco's.

Bought this 7 yrs ago, and still making one great coffee with lots of crema.

Easy to use and sturdy and yes I bang my the pod to get the coffee out. If the coffee pod filter gets clogged (you"ll see it holding it up to the light, hold a lighter against it or put it on a hot stove( yeah yeah, shouldn't do all this, but thats how it goes in a italian restaurants where I worked in europe)

A few tips: use a recommended de-scaler every 3 months

As soon as you get less cream on your coffee. (run you finger through the water container if if feels slimy or oily, time to clean the container.

Ours is on 12-14 hrs a day and coffee is great.
