needed (basically just) descaler but this kit came up as recommended on Amazon for our Saeco Odea Giro unit. the kit also includes the lubricant, a "paintbrush" to apply it to the brew group's hard-to-reach places, and a water filter (which we don't bother with; our drinking water is triple-filtered as it is). there's also a package of cleaning tabs which can't be used with the Odea Giro, unfortunately (as it doesn't have an automatic cleaning cycle).

next time around, i'll just buy the less expensive Urnex Dezcal descaling solution, which is evidently the OEM product that Saeco private labels in this kit.

We have "not great" water. When the warning light -- filter needs changing came on -- and we didn't have a filter -- none came with our Saeco "Easy", we bought this kit. It's great -- with one exception. We used all the chemicals, and really cleaned up our Saeco, but the $3.00 device to insert the filter is not in the kit. So, we couldn't install the filter until we shopped at the Saeco outlet and bought one. Now that we can change filters, we will probably continue to purchase these kits periodically to service our much loved Saeco.

The majority of the expense of this product is the water filter, which does NOT fit the Saeco 4038 Vienna Plus. Shame on Amazon for suggesting bundling them...

I have a Saeco Odeo Go, and after working to take advantage of the different pieces, here's what I found:
1. The water filter is not compatible with my unit.
2. The powder does not work as well as the solution. You need to make sure you mix it all into the water really well as I found some on the bottom of the tank after I ran the cleaning cycle.
3. The little brush helped clean out those hard to reach places, and I was able to use it to apply the lubricant right where it was needed.
4. The lube works great, and I definitely needed it. Helps keep it moving. Just watch your fingers.

So, net-net, know what you need and buy accordingly. If your unit doesn't come with the filter, you likely can't use it. Still a good buy, and going forward, I simply be getting the solution until I run out of lubricant.

The kit brought my Saeco 4038 Vienna Plus 15-Bar-Pump Super-Automatic Espresso Machine, Graphite back to life and I had no problem using the water filter with it.

Bought this in a rush because my Saeco expresso machine had stopped working, got it a few days later, used it, and the coffee machine is working again like a charm!

Has all the tools to maintain a Saeco espresso maker except I needed a different type of water filter. I didn't find where it said which Saeco models it was for.

I really like when it comes with all that you need in on pack, cleaning brew, cleaning pencil, 3 packs of dezcal and lubricant,

Even though the machine is all plastic , the coffee/ espresso both have oodles of caramel- colored, thick crema... very delicious; however , it is noisy and will wake the kids on the wknds, which could be good or bad. A splendid, fully-automatic espresso machine with infinite-settings that is affordable.
