The paint job is excellent. I don't understand how someone could "paint outside the lines" because it is dinosaur skin. The paint is better than that on my Schleich dinosaurs (Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Triceratops). There are subtle gradations and the whole effect is very pleasing.

The level of detail is excellent.

At nearly two feet long (5" high), this is my biggest dinosaur yet at 1:40 scale.

This is the best Sauropod Dinosaur toy that I've found. Good accurate head detail, the dentition is just right. The paint job is fun without being silly. I wish that they would do a Brachiosaur with a similar attention to detail. Recommended.

Excellent replica of a Diplodocus by Safari Ltd. It is more than just a toy. It gives a visual of what the Diplodocus looked like. Very educational toy model that has superior quality of hand painting. A must for your dinosaur collection.

My kid loves this thing and since there are no holes in it its ok to take to the bathtub, a great toy and very durable.

For the past five years or so The Carnegie Collection by Safari Ltd has made a significant leap forward in their presentation of toy dinosaurs. 2006 saw the introduction of this beautiful figures, 20 ounces in weight and twenty-eight inches in length, making it approximately 1/40 scale. It is beautifully painted (each is handpainted, made in China) with vibrant and natural looking color and the detailing is exquisite. It is lifelike, attractive and quite durable. There simply is not a better Diplodocus, or for that matter Sauropod of any sort, available at a reasonable price, on the market today.

The paint job was horrible. It was like someone painted out of the lines. The quality of the product seems pretty durable, but a little flexible. I wish they would check the product before shipping, because I got another dinosaur(papo velociraptor) horribly done.
