My son is about as expert a 7-year-old on dinosaurs as there is. He loves this Giganotosaurus. It is well balanced, looks great, and is durable. He has hundreds of dino toys, and this is one of his favorites. Safari is a very good brand for dino toys. Highly recommended, and a very good value.

I was a little worried when I saw some of the review for this dino, but I have to say that this was a really great toy for my toddler. She loves dinosaurs and Giganotosaurus is one her absolute favorites. It has been almost a month now, and the dino looks good as new. It is indeed fairly tough and durable. I have not experienced any breakage or bending. It also stands pretty well on its own (does not fall down a lot as one reviewer suggested). I have bought plenty of Safari Dinos in the past and I have not had any issues with any of them. They have all been dropped, thrown, stepped on, and taken to the beach without incident.Apparently the Safari company people are sticklers for accuracy (even more so than Papo). Although not as detailed as Papo, Safari claims that these dinos are based on the most recent scientific data. The detail on Giganotosaurus is very impressive and my daughter plays with it all the time. Its a great addition to our collection and I am glad I bought it. I also saved a lot of money buying it through Amazon, as the local toy store had it for almost twice the price. I am not sure why other people had issues, but for my part, this guy is an A+

i don't know about all the others out there, but mine falls down - all the time. it's probably just my individual replica, but there's always the chance that it is a design flaw. i don't know; i haven't bought a replacement, yet. - d.

This is a great looking dinosaur and not a common species. My son loves playing with it, however, like many of the Carnegie / Safari dinosaurs, they're better for looking at and not playing with. The small arms are quite fragile and the finger/claws break off quickly once its played with very much. It doesn't have much tolerance for anything but very gentle play, which kind of defeats the purpose for a kid.

I have purchased many Safari Ltd. "rubber" animals for my daughter and among their dinosaur and extinct animal collection (there is a distinction in name only between Safari's Carnegie collection and the Safari Dinos collection)I have been very pleased. They are branching out and including under the moniker "Carnegie Collection" dinosaurs that are not represented in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Pittsburgh. Nonetheless, this Giganotosaurus is well modeled with a very accurate pubic bone protrusion, so characteristic of saurischian hips. The coloring is conjecture, but here it is not bright as to immediately read as "plastic toy." (Early Safari dinos were garishly bright, such as an earlier T-Rex) Sturdy, ours is stable when standing, and well detailed modelling and color make for a winning toy. Highly recommended.

My grandson asked for the Giganotosaurus because according to him, he was as mean and bad as his T-Rex is. He had a great time fighting these two and then just plane out playing with it. He says now he needs a Daddy and baby Giganotosaurus. I found her very realistic and awesome looking. Very good buy. We both loved it!

This is a well sculpted and nicely painted model. Certainly better than the usual Carnegie Collection Dinos. You don't see many Giganotosaurus toys

I bought this toy for my three year old (almost four) who is extremely interested in dinosaurs and was looking specifically for a giganotosaurus. He is very rough with toys and it has held up nicely over the last day (usually anything flimsy would be done already). Good product overall.

I purchased this for my 4 year old son who loves dinosaurs, especially Giganotosaurus. It was the present from Santa and he loved it. The quality is good, the paint job is well done, but it is heavy (it is not made of soft, hollow vinyl like most other toy dinosaurs). It is made of a hard plastic that is very brittle. Within two days of my son playing with his dinosaur, the fingers started falling off and there are cracks in the arms. I think this "toy" is more for display than it is for play.
